How do you do it? Same as almost every other GT-R owner could who is driving on track: VDC-off. Why is this such a mystery to you? Are you not familiar with the car you feel so strongly against?

Everything else you mentioned is your opinion (and apparently heavily biased).

Um, yeah, about that.........

You seem to not even know your own car. #1 warranty is void if the tranny breaks while VDC is off, so #2 no most drivers do not drive with it off, and certainly none of the ones I've instructed or gave check rides too.

Thus I'm also inclined you still don't know what you are talking about in regards to VDC off disabling torque vectoring. I have not heard/seen that anywhere. Where is that stated?

Nissan lied about the purpose of VDC off to begin with, that it was to get out of snow and not to get better launches for the media. Until they got called on it. Liars.

Interesting. It seems like I know a whole lot more than you.

I haven't had a warranty for several months now. So it is all irrelevant to me anyways...

And it is VDC-off stall starts that are the issue. But, being the knowledgeable person you are, you should have already known that, and kept this irrelevant (and incorrect) post to yourself.

With every uninformed post, you are really proving to all of us (who would rather talk about the GT3 on a GT3 thread) that your disdain for the GT-R is misplaced and inaccurate.

So now you've digressed even further from the original topic. If you have no other substantive information regarding the PDK in the GT3, please defer to the GT-R section for further discussion.

VDC off stall starts are AN issue, not the ONLY issue. The cheap circlips failing have caused a lot of failures as well. And transmissions have broken on the track, where you claim everyone runs VDC off. That would make their warranty void too now wouldn't it? Since Nissan can tell they were at the track and all and VDC would have been off at the time of failure.......

More than a few people have had to replace transmissions out of pocket. And they weren't all launch control related......

And you are the GT-R expert?

To the benefit of anyone else who came in here thinking this was about the GT3, and found that heavy seems to think any forum is appropriate to discuss warranty information on a GT-R, let me help:

The transmission circlips have been linked to several failures (and can be replaced rather easily), and is not always indicative of track use, nor mode of operation.

Although he didn't mention the shift-fork, clutch baskets, seals, etc... (probably another indicator that he learned from reading the interwebz), there are other reasons for issues to develop. Anyone with ACTUAL warranty concerns regarding the GT-R, please feel free to PM me.

Because the bar of this conversation is ever-moving to accommodate his bias against an inanimate object, it may be hard to actually see his lack of knowledge.

I thought the same thing even when I was looking to buy my 2010 RS, and think it's more true than ever now. I'm still looking forward to the 991 GT3 RS to see what they do with it, but am convinced that ours have been assured of collectors status as the last of their kind. The RS 4.0 pricing phenomenon has been interesting to watch, and I do hope there is a lasting ripple effect on the 997.2 GT3 RS models.

3Kings is infamous around these parts
Porsche is always looking to get faster and push the limits, if porsche put it in the car. There is a reasoning behind why and their science is POINT ON.
