991 GT3 or C7 Z06?
Dunno...
Happening right now Alfa 4C. It happened for 2 years for the GT-R. It happened with the Plymouth Prowler. It happened with the prior model Shelby GT-500 (and many other models).
Not nonsense. Just waiting for manufacturing to catch up with demand. And perhaps combined with the smaller size dealership, this may be an indicator that the car is simply in relatively large demand for a particular area (which is good news for GM).

Same I know another dealer that they will give me 5k off for the new zo6. It just depends on what dealer you go to. Same with the GT3. My local porsche dealer gave the whole "oh normally we don't discount but for you we'll give you 4k off".
It all depends. Either you go to a dealer that feeds the nonsense or you know how to find one and talk to one who won't.
It depends if you go to an idiot dealer that feeds the nonsense. For example I had a 13 gt500. I got it for 1k over invoice and I was one of the first people in north america to have theirs delivered.

Apparently the initial Z06 allocation is going to be based on 10% of the total number of C7s sold by a dealer in the last year, so if a dealer only sold 20 C7s, they'll only get two Z06s in the first allocation. However I imagine that GM will sell as many Z's as orders placed and there'll be no restrictions once the parts supply chain is up and running.

Last year when I was looking for a DD, I was shopping around for a 14 Grand Cherokee. The closest dealership to me had them for $5K over MSRP, another dealer had it for more. I drove 45 minutes out of my way and picked it up for $5.5k off sticker. Just do some research before you buy your vehicle and let the fools overpay.
I never understood how anyone would pay over MSRP for a vehicle. Remember, each car costs the dealer the same amount of money. A Camry at one dealer costs the dealer the same amount as any other Toyota dealership.

If nobody ever paid over MSRP, then dealers couldn't charge for it.
I passed on an R8 several years ago, as I was quoted $20k over sticker (I have other examples, but the single one is enough to validate your statement).
And so it begins!

I don't follow, how is this an apples and oranges comparison? These are the most track focused versions of their respective sports cars. These two cars compare with each other in just about every way. In this case, the cheaper car outperforms the more expensive one.
There's more to these cars than numbers. Like I said, if you don't get it buy the cheaper one.
They are both great cars. Similar numbers but different cars. Drive both and then decide. The delta is around 40k. Imo. Buy what you can afford and what moves you.
I have a 2007 gt3. Great manual track focused.
I had a 2014 c7 z51 7 MT. Tracked twice and did 2 day level 2 spring mountain course in May with their stingrays. Sold it to make room for ....
My 991 gt3 2015 just got unloaded at port. 141 Msrp.

Here the real scoop from a previous Corvette owner turned Porsche Enthusiast. I track almost every week so my opinion may be a little different. First and foremost its a Chevy. When you take it for service you take it to a Chevy dealer. Its engineered by Chevy. Hows the over heating issue and brake fade on the C7??? How about the lackluster brakes on the previous Z06?
Numbers on paper.... sure they are important but cars can reach their top performance stats but for how long with sustained driving? How many laps?
Porsche GT3's from any race track in the world lap after lap will keep you safe and be reliable with tremendous performance. A corvette is a just a chevy. The GT3 has a heart and soul and gives me shivers down my spine when I think how special they are and how grateful I am to have.

Must be nice to look down at others from way up there.
