If it's temporary, why bother with it? Are people really having a rash of bothersome flat-spotting that doesn't work itself out after a few minutes of driving? Is this only on certain tires? I've never had anything manifest itself that wasn't temporary, and this is with street tires on drivers, and R-compounds on race cars.

It doesn't bother me in the least bit. I understand why it happens and as long as it eventually works itself out, it's not an issue. I don't know the long term effects of flat spotting is though. The longest I have ever left a car sitting is probably 3-4 weeks and even then I did not have any permanent issues.

happened to me once, but that was like 8 years ago. I am sure tire makers had mad improvement on tires.
I park my Impressa for 3 motns, and I had flat spot on my tires, all 4 of them.
