I shopped for these in 2013 and its a great car. When I did my research the maintenance didn't seem too bad and reliability was good.
I just don't know what prices are at the point. With the announcement of the 675 and 570 the 12c is getting older and the 650s prices have to be moving down as well.

Macs are the worst at depreciation. I would not buy one. You are better off leasing it.
570 makes 12c and 650 look old. 540 will depreciate the 570 and older 650, 12c even more.
Service is good but these cars do have electronic updates. Be sure you hv a good dealer to go to.

I just bought a 14' brand new and even though I got it for a massive discount I will probably still take a hit. I think the 2012 models will not depreciate anymore, I think they have hit the bottom, started to stabilize and even gone up a little lately. I was shopping them for a year before getting one.
I have met a few members in person at the track, while I was tracking mine. Owners of these cars track them a lot, and not one of them complained of issues but instead had the same smirk of love/lust for their 12c.
When compared to their original sticker price the 12c's have dropped really bad, but you should be pretty good at the price you could get one for now. Enjoy.

I have a 2013 loaded MP4 Convertible that I'm looking to sell. Grey on Orange. Car has full front clear bra, built in Escort 9500ci system, one owner, 11k miles. Never tracked. Let me know if interested. 190k

What makes you think they've gone up? You can get '12s in the 150s now which seems lower than this time last year or even 6 months ago. McLaren are ruining their own market by releasing new models every 2 years and lower prices on top of it. I really want a McLaren but I simply can't pull the trigger with the depreciation loss.
The car is indeed super reliable as I personally know people that track them hard and frequent.
I would be careful about putting 570S in the same basket with 12C or 650S and therefore forecast a doomsday scenario for all three model prices to go further (substantially) down from here. 570S is missing both active suspension and active aero compared to 12C and 650S and if you care for the performance beyond blvd cruising and d.d., those are substantial differentiating factors. Compared to her competitors, 570S should be head and shoulder above them in terms of performance & being a "driver's car"
Having said that, the price hit has been hard for the new car buyers but I'd like to think that most of those didn't see purchasing a (newly established brand) car as an investment and/or were fortunate enough to not care for the depreciation.
