GT3 vs. Stradale vs. Ford GT

Did anyone see the new Car and Driver magazine with the shootout between the 3 cars? Very interesting reading. In many aspects the GT3 actually faired better than the Stradale and the times were basically identical. FWIW, the magazine rated the Ford GT first, the Stradale second, and the GT3 third.

Also, they clocked the Ford GT from 0-60 in 3.3 sec! That puts it on par with the Enzo?! Looks like this new exotic from Ford will be quite a beast!

That test should have been: GT2 vs Stradale vs Ford GT, not the GT3, the price range is all over the place.

JASCLASS, i believe that they said the same thing, that the GT2 should have been used. But I believe their reasoning for not using the GT2 is because they said something along the lines of "The 192,000 sticker on the GT2 would not justify the extra power over the GT3."

Yes they did, it makes no sense to me, the GT2 is more of a competitor against those two cars, and whether the power to price can be justified or not it still is a car in the Porsche lineup.

In a way though the GT3 vs. Stradale is a better comparison as both are NA highly tuned/ racing models of an existing production car

I wonder if Ford sent a ringer for that test. Motor Trend recorded a 3.6 and Road & Track ran a 3.8.

The Ford GT can do 60 mph in 1st gear though.

The FORD GT is an ANIMAL......baddass....... looks like a GTP car.............7 seconds faster to 150MHP that either the Stradale & GT3. CAR & Driver must have hard time getting more cars to test. They should have gotten a GT2, Viper........wait until they pit a Carrera GT against an ENZO.
That will be a good read.

Thats what I thought at first but now after reading some press on the CGT, it might come out on top, Ferrari and Porsche are swapping a car each to test and compare.

Yeah, WAY too much performance for the stated horsepower and weight. Either Ford gave C&D a ringer, or they are going to announce a big hp increase for the production run. The accel numbers were basically identical to the Saleen S7 which is 400 lbs lighter and has 50 more hp, so something is wrong.

GT40

Yea i guess the GT40 is a beast. But why would u pay all that cash for a ford. I think the looks of the car are horrible. I would take the GT3 or Stradale anyday.

The GT40 in my opinions is the American way of saying we can still compete against the boys from europe. Clearly in styling and ingenuity they lose. In pure acceleration they win as usual...cough ligenfelter cough.... But acceleration is not what I am interested in. I want to make sure my car starts everyday---not so sure with ferraris. I want to make sure my car looks super good---the GT40 is unique but so is a hippo--dont mean it look good I also want to make sure my car has some status symbol. I mean you are admitting to that even if you do not want to when you buy a porsche---80Gs just doesnt grow off trees.

I think that the GT40 may win competitions in car magazines---but these are the same magazines that will give the BMW 3 series, Nissan 350Z, and Honda S2000 the first place every single god damn time.

Just my 0.02
