Good headers for GT3
Good headers for GT3
I have a bone stock 05 GT3 with the exception of Fabspeed Mufflers. I want to add efficient headers to this car. What brands would you drivers suggest...Fabspeed, Cargraphics, others. The car will never be tracked. I want to pick up a little more HP for sometimes aggresive street use. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

There is next to ZERO gain in hp for the GT3 with any mod with the 3.6, that is worth the money.
Regearing works very well..and the only choice for HP increase is going with 3.8+ displacement. big money there.

I don't think that you can just bolt headers on the GT3 and expect any perfoemance gain. You have to change the intake, exhaust, headers and calibarate the ECU to maybe gain a few.
Zo6 suggested regearing which is expensive, but worth it is you want to improve the performance of your GT3.

i have headers and exhaust, more torque, a little more HP, completely different sound....from what i understand as long as it has the merge collector, bent madrel, equal length all clean fininsh with proper welds and the same stainless quality...they are all very similar....
Cargraphic makes a great header system for that car-
However testing has shown that the exhaust system needs to be approached as a complete unit- headers catalyst and mufflers to have any horsepower gains.
If you would like to retain the factory arrangement of the exhaust system try a complete system from a tuner like Cargraphic or Manthey.
If you dont mind changing things around - I have a few clients running around with a CUP exhaust system- Cup exhaust manifolds and the cup muffler ( which has catalyst built into it.)
Other than that - Mufflers do Absolutely NOTHING other than change the sound.
Just my .02 good luck

You see alot of claims for HP increase but no chassis dyno to back it up.. if you could see some gains from these GT3 packages there would be a dyno by now.. it's easier to sell the hype.
I have done the regearing.. it does not cost more than the exhaust kits they are selling... I realy think my regeared GT3 will drive away from a exhaust package GT3... it's a joy to drive. great jump.. a real eye opener.

ZO6,
Can my Porsche dealer do the re-gearing or will I need to have my independent P guy do it. Is there a kit or part number, and are the gear ratios pre-determined.

I've started some research on the light flywheel.
Maybe by this summer I'l have the car sorted out to my liking. It is a strong runner as it sits so I'm in no big hurry.

I had my tranny regeard by Brian Copans..BMC&G. Fed Ex it to him in a large barbecue, meat, type cooler..
There are things to consider.. you will change 3-6th gear..
there is rpm drop between gears.
and top gear crusing rpm.
top speed
