Have been waiting this custom made Ti X-Pipe for months.

Finally it was done and received this picture from Chris last night Can't wait to put it on

 

I bought GMG stainless steel X-Pipe with heat treated coating, but didn't have change to install as it is almost as heavy as OEM muffler.
Then I also purchased GMG Titanium version, which is paper light, but the welding is not so good, especially at the join middle pipe.

But compare to Unobtainium's, Unobtainium is true X Pipe, GMG is only 2 pipes joined with as 1" mid pipe.
Unobtainium has much better welding.
Unobtainium is thicker, and a little bit heavier.
So the tone is deeper.

 

so what finally did you set? Take pictures, please

 

The first pic: This is after installed Unobtainium X-Pipe


The second pic: This is side by side compare, you can see the Unobtainium's X section is much bigger than GMG's


The third pic: This you can see through Unobtainium's from left to right through the center X section


The forth pic: This you can see the poor cut and oxide weld in the GMG's mid section, this is the mean reason that I change to Unobtainium

 

when you don't back purge thats what happens. A lot of high end exhaust makers don't back purge their stuff. Its a shame, especially for the $ they are asking.

Unobtainium makes some sick stuff !

 

GMG did back purge at some point, the problems are:
- The cutting of that x-pipe holes is not smooth and with cracks!



- They didn't back purge enough when they welded those x-pipe!

 

Update with some heat treated by exhaust gas


Put the whole hand in the pipe, LOL
