MPS2 question
MPS2 question
I have tires budgeted for next month -the pilot sport 2's are not even to wear
bars yet on my GT3 with 8400 miles. I was washing the car today and noticed
cords just starting to show on the very inside lip of the tire. can I wait till I have them budgeted in April or can I get maybe 1000 more miles out of em? Notice center of tires are not even to wear bars but just the VERY inside lip I got some cord showing. I know I got some camber in them but I was just wondering since the middle of the tire and outside are still great. I have the tires and the new pads set up for purchase middle of april. I have one trip planned in the car and thats it for this month.
No track days planned just one trip to LA and back on this set of rears.

paul if you see the cords, they can go anytime.
although not supposed to, i have flipped the tires on rim to get extra life (mps2), but that only works on DRY pavement. you might as well get new tires. if they blow out, you will demage the wheels most likely. that's a lot more money than just getting tires now.

8,400 miles seem a little low for PS2. if u like the way it handles now that's fine. if u want to get a more life out of it maybe u should have the car re-aligned after the new tires. do u know what camber u're running in the back? i suggest alignment because u mentioned even the middle of the tire's in great shape.
Arling, I have had a couple three track days on the car and I dont know exactly the setup but the corner balance was good and the camber was close to what has been called out. But youre right I should have the car rechecked.
Its just hard to do that in Ridgecrest (impossible)

Man, I've only put 3700 miles on my Pirelli's and they need replacement (doing it this week). I would replace them all with Michelin PS2's but the fronts still look new. So I'm replacing the rears with Pirelli's. Next time around though, I'm going with Michelins. The wear on the Pirelli's are ridiculous. Although I must admit I have driven her pretty hard.
By the way, I read on another thread that LUCENT can get the center console cover embroidered with the Gt3 logo. Can you get it with the logo and the red stitching?
