PCCB revisit

i know it's very pricy when ordering a new car, but if u think a full set of Brembo cost pretty much the same (of course i'm not refering the ROTORs )

i've also heard problems & noise issue on the kit but after talking to few owners they are all pretty happy about it. just don't have personal experience with them.

to get or not to get?

PCCB on the GT2, the car only has 1,600 miles and just street use, went with steel rotors on the GT3, overall should be more track friendly at this stage.

arling,

i'm not sure what you're asking, but after much study, here's my view on PCCB:

-great on street
-get steel for track
-break in with repeated decell. from 100 -20 say 10 times
-do not use green race pads, stay w/ yellow track or street and carry 2-3 extrat sets to every track day, and keep you rotor holes clean and change pads as needed

i have a source of factory rebuilt PBBC rotors for $4K/set, which means they become price comparable for heavy track drivers if you own a GT2.

Hey Watt, Thats who I spoke to. You got one hell of a deal if you got 4 for $4K. I was told that the rebuilt rotors are ~50% less than the new rotors. One of us must have misunderstood ... hopefully me.

Either way... He was great to talk to. He took the time to answer my questions and had some interesting information on the PCCB's.

he called me this am to say he mis-spoke or i heard him wrong....
you were rigtht, for now 1/2 price which is horrible. i dont expect to ever need any, but still...
if uncle bob can get 9000 track miles fro his, that's 100,000 road miles for me.

Like I said before, if you know where to look, you should be able to do better than $8K per rotor. Also, give it some time, if more and more people need to replace the PCCB and at the same time more PCCB brake options are ordered, higher production volume will inevitably drive prices down.

I will check with my connection to Porsche Motorsports and see if I can do better. I was once quoted $5500 for the set from By Design.

Thanks for the clarification Watt. I was really hoping to be wrong on that one... $16K, thats a lot of cheese for new rotors.
