'08 GT3 changes/ordering information?

Has anybody received ordering information regarding the 2008 GT3? Historically, Porsche hasn't changed the cars much from year to year ('04 and '05 were pretty much identical).

Now we know Porsche can legally bring GT3's to the states without sunroofs. I really can't justify spending $10k+ to "delete" an option, though.

Has anybody found information that might indicate that PCNA has changed their mind? Will they allow us to spec the sunroof delete for the standard GT3 for the 2008 model year? I want to order a GT3, but I'm pretty tall and see myself tracking the GT3 so I'll need clearance for a helmet. I really appreciate not having a moonroof on my M3.

Thanks in advance for any help you might have in this matter.

Sean

I.E., GT3 RS model... Sure, you get a lot of other stuff with it (wider rear track, carbon rear wing, and some styling changes), but the sunroof delete is the only thing that I'm really interested in.

the new 08 order guide should be out in May if there's any change.

I highly doubt they would make such a major change in the 2nd year of production. They might do it for the next incremental GT3 release. They just came out with this engine.

I suspect you will have to go with the roof-spoiler...but it would be nice if they made it optional...good luck...

Gt3

Supposedly there is no room on the current GT3 engine to place direct injection. They'd have to scrap the entire block and start over which I don't think that they can do for this version even if it goes into '08. Maybe for the 998 version.

Just asking. I went through the 01 Z06 - 02 Z06 fiasco were they added 35 HP to the newer cars. Wanted to throw the question out there. THanks for all the info!

There will be no changes to the GT3 or the RS.
