How much Clearbra should I use.
How much Clearbra should I use.
Hey guys. I am going to Clear bra the front of my GT3. However, I am debating what areas to cover. What have you guys done?
One guy with a 997 GT3 has the complete hood, front bumpers and fenders covered. I felt that it was overkill but you really couldn't tell that it was on.

I did the entire hood, front bumper front fenders.
Looks good as there is no seam on the fenders or hood.
Also did the edges of the doors, edge of the rear fender, mirrors and door handles.
Compete about $1200

i would do the entire hood & fenders if that's an option. for those who did only half hood & fenders like myself are probably because the film roll wasn't wide enough back then. now wider film is available i think that'll be a better solution.
for the side i'll suggest u to remove the factory clear bra then have ur guy replace it with the entire piece to cover the side skirt. 997 GT3 doesn't have the anti-rust rough paint seen on the regular Carrera 2/S so the lower sides will get sand-blasted pretty bad if u don't cover it. it'll also look a lot cleaner if u have one piece run it across rather than the factory lame coverage. see pics below. if u look closer u can see where the film stops on the fender. it starts all the way to the front wheel to the rear wheel.
the rest i'll cover the front bumper, headlights, mirrors. that's about it.
