Anyone know a dealer that I can order a GT3 at?
I had an auto broker friend of mine make some calls last week to try to put me on the list for a GT3 mkII and the two or 3 dealers he knew said they had no more spots available, he found one place that said there was only 3 people on the backup list, so he put me on, but I doubt 3 people are going to back out... I'm in Southern California, should I have him try some dealerships in other parts of the country? Would that be easier to get on the list? I mean, it's a 2009 car, how hard could it be to place an order on one? I would just get an RS but those are going for too much over MSRP for me to justify...
Does anyone in any part of the US, know a dealer that would take an order for a GT3? I would even order a 2008 or for that matter if the 2009 are sold out, a 2010
And does anyone know a dealer with an RS at about $25k over?
Thanks!

Your best bet is to get on the phone and call every Porsche dealer in the USA to see if someone has a car that a buyer backed out of. I was shocked to find out how many people back out of buying a car, even after leaving a deposit. It appears that people like to "have a deposit" on the new cool car, but not actually buy it!
To help you target the first dealers to call, you can use this google search which will pick out cars on Porsche dealers' websites: http://www.google.ca/search?hl=en&q=...e+Search&meta=
Please note that just because it's on the dealer's website does not mean it's available; apparently, customer orders which are sold may also end up on the website.
In Canada, I lucked out as my local dealer was able to do a dealer transfer from a small dealer that had little hope of selling a GT3 in his small city. I doubt you'd be able to do that now, but I see no reason why you can't buy it directly from another dealer and have it trucked over to your city.
Good luck in the search and please get a unique colour
I think a midnight blue GT3 with gold BBS race wheels would look retro and hot.

You can do what I did...
I went to porschedealer.com. I started in my own state. I used a browser that had tabs like IE or Firefox. I would open up each dealer's inventory in a separate tab. I would then exhaust the inventory looking for a GT3, moving from tab to tab, and eventually going back to porschedealer.com and choosing another state and repeating the process over again.
I started in N.C. Made my way up to Maine. Then started South and found one that was avail (kind of...
) in Tampa, FL. Called, car was sold with deposit but money had yet to be received. The squeaky wheel gets the grease and I owned the car 4 days later. Car was on the boat at the time.
Good luck!

If they had a deposit, then they had the money, all that's required anyway. Did you basically steal someone's allocation?
Suncoast Porsche of check autotrader.com. There are always some there.

I tried buying an allocation from Beverly Hills Porsche in May. Mark (internet sales) tried to get it done but management said no. I guess they plan to spec their 3 allocations out themselves and sell to the highest bidder when they arrive. Common practice for GT3's in SoCal.
