too fast?

car has about 1200 miles now and going up to 7k rpm. absolutely incredible.

problem is cant find any place to use it let alone the remaining 1500 rpm left over. where do the people with 600 + hp cars go?

1st track date will be labor day at watkins glen so...

you have NO idea how many people just sit in awe when I say I think my turbo is simply pointless for the road and too fast for any real use...

The answer, as you have figurede out, is the track...

and fyi, if your on your game, you hit 150-151 mph at the end of the back straight going into the bus-stop in a 997 gt3...you should be so close to full throttle with your car from the beginning of the "s" to the Bus...

Dubai: hundreds of km of empty roads in the desert with no cops or speed cameras

ummmm too fast? we roll 1000+rwhp cars on the highways with no worries here.

just send a car up a couple miles to be a spotter when there are a lot of us

but usually be fine with a V1 and a jammer...

in all honesty, half the guys "rollin" with 1k horsepower dont even know what they REALLY have...I promise that if they were to EVER get to a road course track, they wouldnt use more than 400 except MAYBE at VIR where 600 could be used...the rate at which you come to corners just overwhelms more than one could EVER imagine...trust me...and I only have 465 hp...

You could probably make use of all the power on good canyon roads. I am fortunate to live near the Malibu area where there are plenty of good twisty roads, and not much traffic. Gotta watch out for cops and rangers though

go out to the highway, slow down to 40-50mph, put car in second gear and let her rip. That is where you can use all of your RPM.

i dont think one can ever use more than 325-350 hp on nearly any given road when having to follow ANY rules of the road...like staying on your side...agian, just think about redline 3rd at over 100 mph...then coming up to a corner that you "have" to stay on your side of the yellows while NOT going off the road (cause thats way more serious than going off at most tracks) or hurting someone else...again, 600 hp is redonkulusly powerful and twice what any given sports car driver can control...

sorry, guess this is one of my more opinionated subject matters...hyaha

i never referred to having 1khp at the track, i stated i was talking about highway runs...

i have karted since i was 2 years old and have tracked high hp cars in europe on many occasions. there comes a point (not often) when more power is a hindrance but that depends on other factors of the vehicle and track and weather conditions. i have never been overwhelmed on track because of too much power, on the contrary i have found that you can easily adapt your driving style to any vehicle if you can take it a bit beyond its limit right away and then meter down from that point. im not saying you are wrong im just saying that this has been my experience.

and you should never be overwhelmed by a 465hp awd car!

Im not talking about not being able to control the car, but lets see you ( or any non professional) hold full throttle through the esses at WG in my car, or ANY stockish turbo...when driving the car to the limit is the goal, 465 hp can be WAY more than people can handle...

in my 348 i could floor it in 1st gear almost anywhere i wanted to enjoy the f1 inspired sound. im afraid to do that in this car b/c the speed differential with other traffic is so dramatic. i really have to plan an event around pushing this car hard.

i will consider getting the muffler flap to always stay open so i can get better sound at slower speeds.

actually, for the 997 gt3s gearing, you should be able to have a TON of fun in first and mostly in second...arent you at 73+ in 2nd?
