LP640 or RT12?

I'm putting this one out there for debate and would appreciate any views:

Buddy has a 360 F1 Spider and a 612 Scaglietti. Wants something new, fun, and fast and willing to spend up to $400k. Needs to be F1, e-Tronic, Tip, etc. Depreciation not a huge issue. Assumption is that the 612 will be traded for a 599 Spider when it comes out.

So....I am of the thinking that he should get an LP640 coupe. Why? Becuase simply if one can, one must. It's beautiful, dramatic, fast and probably going to be severely neutered on account of pedestrian and green concerns. So get it now or forever hold your peace type logic.

Alternative options are a new DBS (not that interesting given he's already had a DB9), an RT12 or a tricked-out 997TT (cheap-o alternative) or maybe a 430 Scuderia (impossible to get). Interested in your thoughts?

two of my FVAORITE cars.....thats hard. LP640 is amazing, fast, loud, attract ALOT of attention on the other hand the RT12 is FAST, but won't attract as much attention as the LP would. If I was your buddy I would sell the 612 and get both but if I had one pick....it would be the LP640. i love lamborghini

The RUF/Porsche tip box is just a tq. convertor automatic with manual shift mode, aka not a real "sequential manual gearbox" like BMW SMG, Ferrari F1 and Lambo E-Gear. Because of that alone, I'd get the LP640. But, I would take a std. shift RT12 over the LP640.

The SLR is a fun car and an absolute torque monster, but the LP just has more presence. The roadster is the way to go though.

After getting a ride in a Murci this weekend I am itching for a ride in an LP now! What a ridiculous car.
