Price sanity check on an 08 Gallardo coupe:

Guys, im looking at this car:

2008 Lamborghini Gallardo Coupe
Black/Black with White stitching
1,200 miles

E-gear transmission
Callisto wheels (Black)
Power/heated seats
Board computer
Navigation
Transparent engine bonnet
Branding package
Blacked out wheels
Blacked out calipers
Blacked out windows
Blacked out tail-lights and side markers
Blacked out emblem
Blacked out ceramic coated tail-pipes
Clear bra
Battery tender
Vehicle entered into warranty January 2008

--
Im thinking that if they will take an offer of 185 that I am all over it. They are currently asking 215, but considering there are SLs with CCBs for 205, that 185 for a standard coupe without a backup cam or CCBs or anything would be reasonable?
If not, there is a Nera I found with CCBs that i think i could get for about 170k, but obviously lose the luxury of a few more years of unlimited mileage warranty...or i guess in the other direction, drop another 25k and get a Superleggera, just not sure its 'really' worth half the cost of a 996TT...

Thoughts? TIA

They're asking $215K for an '08, when a brand new '09 can be bought for that price? I can understand Superleggeras, Neras, or SEs for that price, but a regular coupe? Somethin' screwy there. Your offer def. sounds more reasonable.

Not sure you can find an 09 for 215...Most are stickered at 250-265 I have seen so far. and while it seems like you may be able to throw down and get 5k or so off, I havent heard of any going for 20-30k discounts. Have you?

Then those have got to have a lot of options.

I'll have to check, but I'd be surprised if you couldn't walk into a Lamborghini dealership and slap down $200,000 for a base Gallardo (seeing as MSRP is $198K), with little-to-zero options. I mean, it's not like Ferrari were you practically have to pay half the MSRP over to get the car.

08 coupes with low miles(<2K) are selling between 185 and 195K(original MSRP 225-235)
get an 08 with the 3 yr warranty, dont get the 07 nera for 170, CCB's really arent that big of a deal for most guys that drive normally.

Okay, that helps. I was thinking the same overall on the CCBs, I mean, its pretty cool to have and all, but more for a bling factor almost, cause those are RS6 rotors on there if you dont have CCBs and are easy enough to swap out. I believe you lose some unsprung weight with them too, but it doesnt seem like something im going to lose sleep over.
Whats your thoughts on the 20k premium to go to the Superleggera?

I would take a standard 08 coupe at 185K over the SL at 205K.

BTW, I think both of these cars are 20K cheaper this winter. That is when I am going to buy one.

Wow, you seriously think we are going to see a 20k drop in a 4 month timeframe? thats a pretty savage depreciation in a short time. there is a black 560 at silicon valley, but the 240k+ price tag is hard to swallow.
Saving 20k for just a few months seems attractive too...just not sure i can wait :-)

In my experience, to get a 'base' gallardo you kinda have to order it. 99% of the ones i see in showrooms are loaded with options. and considering the outlandish option prices - it quickly drives up a price from 200k to 250.

I find this time of year to have the best selection and the best pricing. And you still have some time to enjoy the car this season. I think the price on 08's may drop some during the winter, but not no $20,000. $185,000 is reasonable for a sports car that listed for $235,000 8 months ago IMHO.

The wholesale on that car is $165K. You should buy it for $180K. If they won't do it, you can get the same deal all day long at Lambo dealers in NY/NJ.

i do not think 50K depreciation is reasonable over 8 months.
the new LP is a factor, but the biggest factor is tight credit, keeping fringe buyers out of the high end car market

The $50,000 depreciation is off list. They are selling for invoice (about $205,000). A used one with some slight mods for $185,000 is fair for both buyer and seller in any market. I'm interested in the ones you can buy for $165,000. I'll take a dozen of those!

You're paying $165 if you're a dealer or wholesaler. A retail customer should be paying $180 to $185. New untitled '08's were (and are) being discounted 5k to 10K and there was a factory 10K rebate.
