Took My Breath Away
SubscribeFrom the 997 to the Murcielago, all in one day.
Allan from Jack Daniel’s Porsche invited me along with Erik & Hershel to the unveiling of the 997 this past Saturday. So I invited the rest of the 6pack
In attendance was, Tony (TonyNJ), Ken (KPV), Sean (Sean) and his son, Joe (BADBOYJOE) and his Lady Lisa, Hershel (HZ@Cargraphic), Erik (Erik@Cargraphic).
We get to Jack Daniel’s and on the floor stands the 997. No test -drives available, so for now, it’s only about the look. Some things I liked, some I didn’t. I’ll just have to wait to take it out. It was great to see Allan again, and visit his beautiful dealership.

It was a beautiful day so some of us were itching for a drive
We decided to go and grab some lunch at TGI Fridays on Rt. 17. Lets just say its always an adventure with this crew on any road
By the way, all pictures were taken by Ken (KPV)
Noses in:

Tails Out:

After lunch everyone decided to drive over to Lamborghini of Bergen County, as Ken said “For Dessertâ€.

While I was there I was able to get some drive-bys of the Gallardo with the Cargraphic Exhaust on it ….. Sweet!
(I will add them to the thread “Have Murci On Meâ€)
So everyone is having a good time looking at ALL the eye candy, the next thing I know I’m walking outside with the key in my hand to a titanium Murcielago. Yes, this time I had the key! I patiently waited for Steve to put the dealer plate on

Once in the car Steve gave me a brief run through so I could adjust the mirrors etc. My next question before I start the V12 beast, “Do I have to stand on the clutch, is it driver friendly?†He said “lets goâ€. I started it and was ready to take this car on. We pulled out of Lamborghini Bergen County, and I attempted to take it all in.
Me Driving

The impressions that were left with me:
The feel of the clutch… it was like butter
The gated shifter… (Snick- Snick), I loved it!
Looking in the side view mirrors and seeing the intake pods, just amazing….
The comfort factor over all - Perfect!
The harmonic sound of the V12 behind me
The grace and ease of moving from lane to lane at 130MPH on route 17
Only two things I would do:
Cargraphic exhaust, I think stock is too quiet.
Camera for the rear view. The rear window is bigger then earlier Lamborghinis, but still leaves you wanting bigger. 6.0 se had a camera fabricated into his SV wing that he put on his Murcielago, now I truly understand why
Bottom line, I truly enjoyed the Lamborghini Murcielago, this car didn’t have any of the exotic quirkiness like other exotics I have experience in the past, except for the rear window.
The car truly took my breath away, so intoxicating. It left me with wanting more. I truly need to add this car to my HUGE stable of one

I wish I could have been there but work calls!
Maybe I am better off, I probably would have left with one of those Lambo's and a huge payment!!
Michele, you compliment that Murci beautifully, nothing like an Italian high horsepower V12, Huh??

Wow!!! Very nice. How did you like the Lambo drive Michele???
I saw my first 997 at the dealer yesterday. The thing that stayed with me was when looking at the interior, I struggled to believe it was a Porsche. Sadly, for me, there was nothing from the interior perspective that said Porsche. Now I know what it's like when the 993 crowd disapproved of the 996. I feel the same way about the 997...How about those old style door openers. Me no like :-(

Very nice, Michele.
Talk about a spectacle .
I would still prefer the Murci to have a rear wing, though. New exhaust, cam, and rear wing would make that car incredible in my eyes. Well, as long as you painted it black, that is.

Outstanding Michele!! Was it a 6speed or Egear? Everything you said about the Murci is exactly why I love them. Dont know if you have driven a 6.0, but as I have told my Lambo Diablo buddies, there is "lightyears" between the best Diablo ever produced(6.0), and a Murci. The clutch, tranny, sound of the V12(I have also added Larani exhaust), and the ease of driving at speed. I have had mine up to only 180, but it felt as solid as any exotic I have ever driven at speed. I look forward to the day I wring her out to over 215!! A really terrific synopsis of the car. GREAT JOB!! A.J.
Thought you might enjoy this. It will be the first Murci in the world to have functional Ram Air roof scoops. The scoops have already been fabricated, and I am waiting for the air ducting to complete the installation. It should add about 35 ponies. It doesnt actually sit on the roof, but on the engine cover, directly behind the end of the roof. Note the wing on back, hard to see.

Chris, I didn't like it at all
Thank you for sharing your thoughts on the 997. I agree on some of your points. I'm holding my tongue until I drive it

Thank you for the compliment on my review. I try to get my tail in everything I can
I love and appreicate the technology, style and passion that is put into these cars. When I was about to drive the Murci, I so wanted to take it all in and not miss anything. I wanted to find the words for my experience that would shed some light for others that haven't had this opportunity. Steve from Lambo Bergen County knows these cars so well, he answered all my questions
To me I rather a 6speed over egear or F1. Half the fun for me is the shifter, so I get to save 10Gs on Egear. The gated shifter blew me away, I loved it. I want that in my Porsche LOLI have been lucky enough to experience many different cars, the 6.0 is still on my list.. I'm working on it.

I only hit 130MPH because of the crowded road. The car handled well, suspension was tight, don't get me wrong you feel that it's a big car, but I have to say the suspension worked well on it. The car really moved well across the lanes, smooth and responsive I could drive that car everyday with no worries. The car wants to be driven and gives you the ease and assurance to do so. SO DRIVER FRIENDLY I can't stress it enough. I wildest thing - no transitional period, just as if I do drive it everyday.
215... I can't wait either - that will be something to write about
Where do ya live again LOL.Quote:

I always loved the scoops on the SV and Diablo GT.. That Murci of yours just might be the perfect Lambo.. at least till the roadster hits the roads
Very impressive thank you for sharing

I absolutely love the Murci Roadster. Many don't like it. With the intakes open, and the top off, that car is as "bad" as it gets. I have car #2 coming into Lambo Dallas in Oct/Nov, if everything goes right.Originally posted by Porsche Babe

The intake pods open and the top off gives it a very edgy appeal.... #2 on the list - who's better then you
I hope it works out for you. Once you get it, please share pictures and your experiences
What color are you getting?
