gallardo 20 inch rim question
gallardo 20 inch rim question
hi i recently purchased a a set of 20 inch forgiato carbon wrapped rims, it took about 4 weeks but i just recieved them today and once it had them installed i noticed they where sticking out past the fender buy about 1/4 inch.. it looks kinda funky. i like how the rims look except for this. a rep at forgiato told me thats just how it is...
here the tire specs
pirelli nero rosso
245 x 30 x 20
325 x 25 x 20
the question:
can these tire/rim combo work on this car without messing up anything? i heard certain rim sizes can destroy the differential
i need to get something that doest kill my car

when you change the wheel size you still need to keep the overall diameter of the new wheels and tires as close to you can to the stock diameter, so you dont mess up the awd system. you have the wrong size tires. the tires size you need is a 305/25/20 and a 235/30/20 also it sounds like you might have the wrong offsets for your wheels cause they should not stick out at all, or the tires are too wide. i have 20's on my car and it is lowered with no rubbing at all.

well the owner swears he has the same stup on his g spyder but i cant even back upo with the car raised up without making a lud rubbing noise , and it just looks bad... the diamiter on the fronts are of by +.3 and the rears are of by +.4 . the owner of forgiato want me to come to his shop but i dont even wanna put 1 mile on these rims... thanks for your responses , i hope i just dont mess my diff up from these rims
i doont think the tires are to wide because they actually sit in a bit from the wheels.. ill post a pic later on today. i would really like to have a good reason to return them but at this point hes claiming the rims setup is for a G , and that its just not my taste...so he wont take them back... again all the help advice would be awesome.. this actually is making me wanna trade the g in for a porsche turbo
I would take them off and put the stockers back on for now or have him come to your house. That doesn't sound good.
If it doesn't work out my 3 piece forged wheels are for sale and they don't rub and are the correct dimensions.
See my signature.

The width of the tires has no effect on the AWD. It is the Overall Diameter (OD) of the tire that has to be taken into consideration for proper fitment. The difference in overall diameter of the new and the OEM tire should be within 1% or less to get accurate speedometer readings.
Regarding Gallardos, the best tire combination for 20" wheels is 235/30ZR20 on 20x8.5 (Offset 32 to 35 mm) and 305/25ZR20 on 20x11 (Offset 36 to 39 mm)
Another nice combination is 245/30ZR20 tires on 20x8.5x32 mm-offset wheels in the front and 305/25ZR20 tires on 20x11x36 mm-offset wheels in the rear.
Although the 325/25ZR20 tires won’t damage the AWD, you need 20x11.5 wheels for these tires and you have to fit inside the rear wheel well the extra 1-3/16 inches in tire width, so you need to measure the correct wheel offset to prevent the tire from coming into contact with the wheel well inner panel, fender lip or the suspension. IMSA Tuning uses this tire size on the rear of its GTV Gallardo so the tire must fit using the right wheel offset.

I believe the GTV has widened rear fenders to accommodate the larger rear tire width
Yes, You are right!!
I made further research on this topic and the tire combination 245/30ZR20 front - 325/25ZR20 rear is used with IMSA's wide-body conversion.
Definitely these tires are too wide to fit into a standard-body Gallardo.

Here is the 20x12 on a 325x25x20. You can run this tire on a 20x12 but the manufacturer has to have the right offsets. All I can say is that if your wheels are sticking out of the fender, and I was in your position with the knowledge I have about wheels. They are supposed to fit inside the fender not out side and you can take pictures of it and send it to them and your credit card company and either demand new wheels and if they don't I would call your credit card company and dispute it. But if Forgiato says thats what its supposed to look like and they really said that to me I would have hung up and called my credit card company right away. Assuming that's how you paid.
