Anybody track their G? I don't quite fit with a helmet (I'm 5'10''). I have the electric seats. Has anybody lowered their seats somehow?

I'm 6'2" with power-recline/manual front-back seats, and I just barely fit without a helmet; I can't imagine using a helmet. That said, I do recall reading a post on Lambo-Power about a new "taller" owner who purchased a Gallardo without ever sitting in one. After initially figuring he had to return the car, the selling broker was able to track down a seat lowering kit (I believe this lowered the seat 1-2 inches). I tried to find the post on L-Power, but I think it was probably lost in the crash. If you contact Roy or Kevin at Cats Exotics, they should be able to point you in the right direction.

Thanks, Josh. I didn't realize L-power crashed and lost posts. I tried to search there too.

I haven't done any Lambo events, but I've had my G for about a year. I've had some Ferraris before and did a couple of events with them. My main activity with cars lately has been doing track days.

What organizations do you like to run with?

A good friend of mine is 6'3 and fits in his 04 Gallardo with a helmet on with no issues.

Ah, I see. I did a search last night and see that you've maintained an impressive collection of cars over the years to say the least. Great choices.
I watched your vid in the CGT about 4 times last night before bed. I slept well.

We'll have to drag you out to another local 6spd meet/drive this summer!

Happy motoring!

Here in Seattle area, the local race school has several lapping days a month that I do, and I've also been with the NW Porsche Club, the Portland Lotus Club, the NW BMW club, and I've done Thunderhill with the NorCal Shelby Club (!) and others. I just did a NW Alfa Club day today. I usually track my Lotus Exige S, or my Porsche GT3.

I wasn't really planning to do a lot of tracking with the Gallardo, but I just wanted to play around with it on the track and see how it is.

I wonder if they revised the seats or something. I think the power seat like mine sits higher than the non-power seats.

His seats are not revised or modded.

Wow, I really appreciate the amount of your track acivity. We should keep in touch, I'm starting to do more with NASA in the Nor-Cal region and I have a friend who is very active with Lotus track events.

Just an idea, not trying to be a wise guy but your friend may have long legs and a short torso. Just a thought. As for fitting in the Gallardo with a helmet, seat bracket mods should be the way to go, much less involved than the Gurney-Bubble. (Ok I'm being a little wise there )

I guess part of it could also be how much you're willing to "slouch" in the seat. I thought about the helmet question when I was out in the G yesterday, and I found that I could generate more headroom the lower I sat in the seat. However, in my most comfortable seating position (sitting up straight), my head just touches the ceiling.

On a side note, a dealer did tell me that manual seats sat lower than power seats.
