R129 Sl600

Hey guys, just thought this would get more exposure to the dedicated MB fans here, and thus I could ask and converse later on here.

Thread posted in OT a couple of days back:

My first V12

Anyone own/ed one of these?

BTW, does anyone know of a site that sells WALD kits + OEM spare parts?
I need international shipping (Visa payment) + use of DHL/FedEx.

Enjoy and TIA.

OEM is going to be more difficult to find except when youre going to a dealership, but WALD I do know where to get.

damn totally forgot about this thread in this sub-forum
here are some updated pics

- clear sides on the headlights changed
- upgraded taillights installed

i'm really trying to take my time with the car because i don't want to do it all at once and then be bored + don't want to do something because i'm too excited rather than fully sold on the idea first

DynamicMotoring,
would you be kind enough to refer me to a site where the WALD kit is offered?

That Wald Kit looks scary but I spot a Ricey Muffler, your Lorinsers are mutch more subtle.

yeah i did try google and found Wald's Japanese site, but as you mention, i couldn't find a distributor based in the US for easier correspondence

would appreciate it if DynamicMotoring referred me to a site

i am primarily interested in the side skirts from the Wald kit.
they're much more evident and aggressive than AMG's sport body

MeanMachine,
you're right the muffler is too much for an R129 imho
their wheels are pretty sweet however! though it may have a lot to do with the car being lowered, which isn't a very smart option for me

anyway i was thinking that for the front and rear bumpers, i'd pay a visit to Garage Gemballa behind the line of dealerships to see what they offer and to also see if they materialize something i have in mind

i'd just like the car to look like it drives and performs, as opposed to its classic and EXTREMELY UNDERSTATED posture as is.. subtlety is key here, hence why i am thinking of going "personal" rather than kitting it

A set of BBS LM's would look sweet on it, I also would paint the lower body panels in the same color as the car.

painting the lower body is definitely on the list

here's my more of a "wish list" than a to-do list for the car overall:

1. upgraded taillights: check
2. clear side markers + signals: check
3. paint lower body: definite in time
4. paint grille black: not a priority, but definitely will consider once lower body is painted (check Figure 1 below)
5. bodywork & kitting:
a) newer style side vents
b) side skirts - WALD or custom that have similar posture
c) front: lip, very similar to BRABUS' (understated and subtle, yet changes the whole car in my perspective).. could also go custom pending a visit to a certain workshop (also in Figure 1 below) unfortunately could NOT find this BRABUS lip online either
d) rear: did not decide on the bumper yet, although an AMG sport bumper is very nice in its subtlety (Figure 2)

ricey mood mods:
- after seeing the new C63, trying to imagine how those two bumps in the hood would look .. nothing serious though as in the list above
- after driving my cousin's CLK with AMG muffler and 320 pipes, would love a similar note for the 600 .. still nothing serious and don't think i'd give an aftermarket exhaust much thought once my mind is occupied with stuff that has nothing to do with cars
- little spoiler on the trunk (Figure 3 - check out those mufflers on that car!!)

Fig 1.
