i know the early ones had the NA motor then switched to the kompressor and now back to NA with 7 gears.

i looked on other forums and didnt get a solid answer.

what were the differences between the years?

 

Kompressor/Supercharger was introduced in the G55 for the MY05 producing 469 HP W/5 forward gears. For the MY09 HP was increased through tuning to 500 and retains the 5 speed tranny.

 

ya, all G55 are supercharged. only g500 are NA.

 

08 was 500hp.

09 got a 7hp bump to 507hp.

09 has newer wheels, new front grille, alcantara headliner as standard, perforated ventilated front seats, new media interface sound system (a sound system with hard drive, SD reader and ipod connection).

Incorrect. The '03 and '04 G55 utilized a naturally aspirated motor producing 349 HP.

with the g55k being available 05-07, can anyone tell me what minor differences those years have or which one of those years to avoid etc

The G55K was introduced for the MY05 and is currently in production. For the MY05/06 there were no changes. For MY07 HP was increased to 500, Bi-Xenon headlamps, oval foglamps with cornering function, alloy wheels painted titanium grey, upgraded digital audio system with DVD based GPS, more supportive seating. Mid-year the gauge cluster was redesigned.
