Can I buy JUST AN ENGINE from Brabus, AMG, Benz?

Hi all,

I had a project in mind. Is it possible to just buy the engine and all necessary components from Brabus, AMG, or Mercedes-Benz?

Yes, no, maybe so?

Cheers!

Yes you can have a Brabus Engine Conversion without the cosmetics. The AMG engine cost alot.

Can't say just yet, but a wofl-in-sheep's-clothing of sorts. :-D

MeanMachine: How much is a lot? $25,000? $50,000?

I'm looking at the engine from the SL65 or comparable Benz unit.

Cheers!

go with the 5.5l from the e55, cl55, all you have to do is find a wrecked car. im sure you can get a wrecked e55 with working engine and harness for about 30k? maybe less

those prices i listed are list, you can get the 5.5l Kompressor motor for about 44k new, even a wrecked one is still an expensive project to start from scratch. Id look for a Mustang or Covette crate motor, incredible reliability and a plethora of "inexpensive" parts available

Here's a g55 v8 supercharged for $13k, call and see if it runs, most likely it does, because it looks like a rollover, not water damage.
seems like a steal at 13k for motor, tranny, and all components, heck you can get about 3-4k for parts not including the motor if you part it out.

its an auction with 2 days left for a "parts only car" that looks as if it was in a pretty gnarly rollover if it cannot be titled, i personally wouldnt touch that car but to each his own

On the same topic, I was wondering if Brabus still made parts for vehicles as old as the 96-2002 (220) E class?

you can get 55Kompressor motors (but with no wiring harnesses or ECU) out of wrecked cars (with no damage to the motor) all day for under $20k.

I will be doing this transplant into my Gcab someday.
