Suggestions on Kitchen Remodel

The wifey and I are considering remodeling our kitchen. Looking to do the following:

New Cabinets
Granite countertops
Tile floors (currently have hardwood)
Stainless steel appliances

We went to Expo/Home Depot and got a few quotes (price seemed high). I was wondering if anyone had any experience with them or could recommend some local companies. Not looking to go over the top 12-18K range.

Call Mike Bliss at Cabinet Discounters in Gaithersburg, MD. Tell him Scott with Horizon gave you his name. He can do it all turn key. Design, appliances, tops, etc.

My roomate does this as well, Model Construction, they also have a showroom to consult with you on what you want done. I'll post up his phone number later.

Probably going to get 3-4 bids. My kitchen isn't huge (2,000 sq. ft townhouse). I was considering buying the appliances (range, dishwasher, fridge, wine fridge) myself to save $$ and have a contractor do the floors, cabinets, and countertops.

Unless your kitchen is small and you plan to do the work yourself, your budget is light IMHO. But that business is as slow as it's ever been and people may do amazing things to earn the job.

Danny,

Awesome, shoot me the number when you get a chance. I will need the kitchen done soon (spring time) and need to start looking.

I live with the PM/GC for this business and know that he is meticulous with his work and actually well priced. Give him a call and tell him Danny sent you, I'm sure he'll be happy to consult with you.
