AWD Dyno in NoVA?

Sorry for all the random questions about NoVA... I called MachV and they said something about having to disconnect front axles?

Trying to get a baseline on my 03 turbo...

Thanks in advance!

Scott

Both ptuning and mach v claim to have awd dyno's. Why are they wanting to disconnect drive shafts? Just asking because I am curious. Is it a safety thing because they think you have to much hp or something

edit - Oh yeah, I recognize your car now. I am the dude with the beard that talked to you for about 5 min at the H2o convention center ^_^b Hope you can find what you need before you have to go.

Hey man good to hear from you! Sorry its taken me so long to get back at you. The front and rear drums need to spin at the same speed for my car to be able to do pulls otherwise the front and rear wheels spin at different speeds and most likely will mess up the diff up front (i believe).

Soooo I am looking for a dyno that is "linked" front and rear. I guess GTRs have the same problem...

Looks like I wont be able to get dyno this time around : /

2 More days.... If anyone knows where I can go please let me know!!

Thanks
Scott

Interesting. What is it about our cars that needs the rollers synched? I am assuming Mach V users there dyno for there awd subaru's.

Randomly I was surfing the internet and stumbled upon this.

The Mustang 500 SE is an Eddy Current dyno, which has a 1500 wheel horsepower maximum measurement capacity in 2WD and 2500 wheel horsepower maximum measurement capacity in AWD. The Mustang 500 SE is also very safe on the drive train of an AWD car due to the synchronization of the front and rear wheel speeds, so, there is no chance of damage to the center differential. This is possible thanks to a drive belt connecting the front and rear rollers, a propriatery design of the 500SE.
So I did a google search for "Mustang 500 SE awd dyno DC area" and I found a fourm post saying this place has one. http://www.raimotorsport.com/aboutus.asp I have never heard of them and I can't find any where on there site that says what type of dyno they have.

Also it looks like awe has one http://www.awe-tuning.com/services/awe-dyno/

Hope this is helpful and its not to late!

There are different designs for the center differential, some cars have a "direct" type connection where others have clutch packs to allow slippage or "torque-biasing". Most of the shops in this area don't have the fully load regulated dynos these cars need.

RAI does have a proper dyno for your car, they specialize in Audi high performance work which uses a biasing center diff also.
