bad accident on 193 in Great Falls

I saw that on the news last night. It's right across from 7-11/Katie's I think.
They brought an arborist in and said the roots were dead in that tree; the bottom of the trunk was virtually holllow. They checked another big tree just up from the one that fell and said that tree's roots were dead also and they were taking it down lastnight.

Early Saturday morning, I walked over to the accident scene from Katie's.
I took this picture, thinking it was the tree that fell. I found out later that this one was taken down as a precaution, after the accident.
(See that the center is rotted out.) If you look across behind the two real estate signs, you'll see where the other tree fell, pulling up
the roots. They said the tree weighed 40 tons!
