wow...didn't realize the other car involved was a gt-r. the stories i have read just said a nissan.

 

On the lighter side of things - Usually the make is all that goes reported. Even your thread title is an example of this.

Just reads: Lamborghini, not Diablo, Gallardo, Murcielago, etc...

I do find it amusing the separation of the GT-R from Nissan (like Corvette from Chevy, or Viper from Dodge (or SRT), etc...). Definitely changes the story.

That's terrible! I think I might recognize her, there was a green lambo that I was following in Key West during the Power Boat races in November driven by a smoking hot beautiful blond, very young, while her boyfriend was chatting on the phone. A sight like that makes you remember details.

Such a tragedy all around.

This is a tragedy. Any updates on what exactly happened that made her loose control and go over the median into oncoming traffic? Did she get cut off by another car in the lane next to her or something? Or put a wheel off into the grass and try to jerk the wheel and over-correct? There has to be more to this situation. In 2002 my parents were driving to NJ and got into a horrific accident this incident was a similar sort of thing, loosing control in my dads case he was cut off my another motorist and ran the car off the road, only my mom and dad were in the car and my dad rolled his Mercedes 7 or 8 times. The car looked like a crushed can, god willing they both survived and thru rehabilitaion they recovered. My dad has since never purchased any car except for Mercedes.

 

Inexperience. You just don't put a 24-year-old girl behind the wheel of a 600HP car and let her tear up a highway.

agreed. He may have been trying to impress her or maybe she coerced him into letting her drive. I think most of us have been there. I know I have before.

 

When I saw them in Key West she was the one driving. She was bouncing around to music and pressed forward toward the windshield in the car. My guess is she probably drove it as much if not more than him. I think the main point would be why anyone as young as they would be handed Keys to such a supercar to be unleashed at will. My guess is she was probably distracted just as many adults are and was looking at a text or fiddling with the radio or dropped something on the floor.
