Cracked LS1 Block Repair?

Guys - someone at work has a Camaro with the LS1 in it. He's got a cracked block. What's the course of action on something like that? Any recommended shops in the area?

I know some friends of mine have had work done by F-Body Central which specializes in everything LSx related. Just like any performance shop, reviews are mixed, but the people who I know that have gotten work done there have nothing but good things to say.

Their site is http://www.fbodycentral.com but it looks like they mostly operate through facebook. https://www.facebook.com/pages/FBC-P...53362908067198.

Have him call my guy Bill at Burnt Mills. Three o 1- 593-11oo. He's always got a swap, build, etc. going on. Knows Cobras, Camaro's, Porsche, etc. Be sure he tells him Scott w/ the red turbo sent him.

I know where a nice looking early 2000's Camaro SS is for sale. They're asking 14K.

Just another option

airbrush1 has a spectacular aura aboutairbrush1 has a spectacular aura about
Ls1tech, corvetteforum, etc... If it were me I'd just swap in a shortblock and be done with it. No sense in repairing a cracked block when the motors are so easily available and relatively inexpensive.

Depends where the crack is. Back when dinosaurs roamed the earth, there use to be a ceramic block seal that seamed to work pretty good.

http://vettetechmotors.com/ Rick is the owner, don't know if he has a block, but he is close and can fix anything Camaro or Corvette related. LS1 boy genius.
