2014 Fair Lakes, VA C & C (Kohl's) Thread
Fair Lakes, 10/19/14
The Lotus guys used the Fair Lakes event as a starting point for a drive out to Purcellville on Sunday. A few of us got to the lot early, to grab breakfast and talk to friends before moving over to the Dick's Sporting Goods lot, to stage for our drive. Here are a few pictures I took before we left.

Lots of Porsches.
The MOPAR section.
Fair Lakes or Bust!
2 Shelbys.
Bugatti replica, based on a VW frame and drivetrain.
Cosworth Vega.
Superlite.
Heavily-modded Pantera.
The Fair Lakes lot.
Tron?
Amazing, seeing old and new Fiat 500's side-by-side.
Bob W's freshly-done 911.
Great weather - clear, and just a bit cool, meant a big turnout was a certainty.
My observation was, much less of the engine revving, burnouts and speed runs down the road this week. If we can eliminate that, we can keep this great venue going!
The Bugatti replica, based on a VW bug frame and drivetrain, was interesting. Everyone was intrigued by the Superlite. I had not seen a Cosworth Vega in, probably, 10 years. Then, two cars in two weeks at Fair Lakes!

The lot at 7:52AM. More than usual, but this was the first day of Standard Time. Some of us didn't 'fall back' on schedule.
The MOPARs were early.
Matt brought his Sport Elise, and parked next to my Jaguar.
Cougar.
Chuck and his Carrera are regulars.
Dino's Ford GT.
Triumph.
FGT & F40.
Bob's F550.
360 & F40.
F40!
As always, lots of Vettes.
Aston Vantage.
Lots of Mustangs showed up.
GTR
It was 2 days after Halloween.
Cold and very windy, we still had a good-sized crowd. Variety and quality were good, too.

A beautiful, slightly cool, morning. Lots of nice vehicles.
My friend Rassul did a very nice thing by encouraging a young guy to 'try on' his Exige, complete with the racing harness. It a great idea to encourage the car hobby with the new generations.

This morning it was overcast, temps in the low- to mid-thirties. It kept some people away, but not all...
We still had a good crowd, and plenty of quality cars - and people!

You can't complain much when it's dry and mid-40's, the last day of November. The day started slow, but we ended up with a real crowd, and some very nice cars.

Attendance at any Cars & Coffee event is unpredictable. Yesterday was overcast, but not unpleasant, yet turnout at Katie's was quite low. Though this morning was clear, it was cold, windy and unpleasant. Regardless, we had a pretty good turnout at Fair Lakes today.

Clear, sunny and over 40 - not at all bad for the middle of December!
The pictures of the little tyke is part of our 'do kids nowadays still like cars' series. This kid rode in his dad's Delorean, and was happy and excited, running to every car that caught his fancy.

Nice turn out today, however, the asshats that insist in making high speed passes and maximum noise when departing the lot were also out in force. These idiots will cause this great event to be shut down.

Looking forward to it!
