2014 Fair Lakes, VA C & C (Kohl's) Thread

Today, 1/12/14, was the first clear weekend day of the year. Icy roads, plus sand- and salt-covered roads kept people away the first weekend of the year. This past week, single-digit temperatures, as well as snow, sleet and freezing rain in the DC region had many of us wondering when we'd ever have a decent weekend day for a C & C. This was that day. Clear skies and early morning temperatures rising quickly from the high 30's into the high 40's proved to be too good for many of us to resist.
The Corvette guys led the way, and we even had four 90's-era ZR-1's in attendance.

More from today. A good showing of modern Ford Focus, the usual handful of 911's, and a much smaller-than-usual Mopar contingent! The R8 and NSX were nice.

The new Ford Focus ST is actually a really nice "performance compact" for around $20,000. I've even read about a number of people trading in their E46 M3s for one and never looking back.

Well, all the salt that was on the streets Saturday somehow disappeared. Oh, wait - it's coating my car's wheel wells. Clear skies and streets brought out a good amount of people and cars today.
People like the later start of this Cars & Coffee - we don't get under way until between 8:00AM - 8:30AM on Sundays, and a fair amount of folks stay until 11:00AM. See what turned out today. Hats off to the guy the arrived on a BMW motorcycle, and his friend who had the TR6 with the top down!

A cold morning, with remnants of snow and salt everywhere. You'd think that this Cars & Coffee would be a bust.
Far from it! We had a pretty good turnout, with an interesting mix of cars, and lots of enthusiastic people. And yes, Ed did show up. (That's his AMG in the first picture.)

Fair Lakes - 02/02/14
Clear skies and moderate temperatures (for early February) brought a lot of folks out. Most of the snow was gone, and what salt was still on the roads presented less of a problem.
A large group of Mopars, a fair amount of Toyota/Subarus, and good bunch of Corvettes today.
