2014 Fair Lakes, VA C & C (Kohl's) Thread
I have had many people ask me to be the bad guy and address some of the issues at our event. So, here goes:
Remember that we are guests of Starbucks, Kohls, Dicks, AND the people who live in the condo building at the other end of the lot. If they want us gone, we will be gone. Our event has grown and we have so many great people and cars, it would be tragic if we had to cancel this venue.
If you come to the event, please abide by these very few and very simple rules:
1. Demonstrate respect for the people who live there and for the event. No silly and/or stupid driving antics entering or leaving the event. Please save the burnouts and 0 - 100 mph runs for somewhere else.
2. Drive SLOWLY in the parking lot - there are kids, LOTS of people wandering about, pets, and people going to shop.
3. Don't start your car and repeatedly rev the engine demonstrating how loud it is. We love that stuff but the rest of the people going to shop or living in the condo probably don't.
4. EVERY car there is special and exceptional. That is why we all take our ONE parking space. If you feel the need to take more than one space, please feel free to do so at a different event.
Ok, that's it. Based on some of what we have seen in the past 3 weeks, it needed to be said. Please feel free to copy this and post it in other forums to get the word out.
Thank you and lets try and keep this venue safe, fun, and growing for a long time to come!

I agree wholeheartedly. This is a very good group, and we have a good time without having to 'show off'. Let's keep it that way. Nobody has more reason to rev and hoon than RSR Guy (have you seen his Lister?), but he doesn't.
Thanks,

I was busy with my Lotus event, next to the normal Sunday C & C. Here are some non-Lotus pictures to start with, followed by some of our Lotus event.

If you haven't been to Fair Lakes lately (or ever), you owe it to yourself to come out and see what comes out nowadays. It's really grown, and always features lots of variety, and organized groups of marques scattered around the venue.
The first picture is of the early guys - pic taken at 7:50AM.

Fair Lakes, 06/01/14 - Part 3
Fair Lakes is a place where friends show up...
BTW, those two Porsche 930's, parked next to each other, happened to have VINs that were two digits apart - practically twins!

Wow, Sunday's attendance was amazing...one of the largest groups to assemble at Fair Lakes! It seems we are growing larger every weekend. That is really great news but we are now overflowing into the lot directly in front of Kohls! Keep in mind, they open at 9am and we do not want to block any access for their Sunday morning customers.
If you are parking in the lot in front of Kohls, please park by the grass along Fair Lakes Circle and leave all of the close parking spaces near the front of the store for the Kohls customers. Also, it never hurts to spend a little $$ at Kohls and Starbucks and let them know you are with the C & C event. If we help boost their Sunday sales volume, we will always be welcome!!
Finally, please only take one space - the event has grown and we need to share the lot with our fellow attendees as well as the customers for the shopping center.
Thanks!

I had some other obligations Sunday morning, so I did a quick hit-and-run to Fair Lakes, and took some quick pics between 7:25AM and 8:30AM.
