2014 Fair Lakes, VA C & C (Kohl's) Thread
Fair Lakes, 02/09/14
Cold and cloudy, but no precipitation, and (at least early), no breeze. Plenty of nice cars and hardy owners. Bryan, I guess that's your black Porsche in the third picture.
On the Prowler, I had never noticed the repetition of the oval dashboard feature, through the oval rear window.

Fair Lakes, 02/09/14 - Part 2
We had some groups there today. The biggest, by far, was the Mopar contingent - at least 10 of those. We had 4 Audis, and we ended up with 3 Corvettes and three Subarus.

Place: East Market at Fair Lakes, VA
Where is East Market at Fair Lakes, VA? It's about a 5 minute drive from the intersection of 66 & 50 in Fairfax, VA. We hold the Cars & Coffee events in front of the Starbucks in the East Market at Fair Lakes shopping center - there's also a Kohl's and a Dick's Sporting Goods in the complex. You can use your Nav system or MapQuest this parking lot, using the address for Kohl's -
12551 Fair Lakes Circle
Fairfax, VA 22033
People start arriving around 8:30AM, and stay to 10:30AM or beyond. Some groups use this as a starting point for drives or other events, during better weather.

Fair Lakes - Snow Day - 02/16/14
From time to time, I think we all wonder about what goes on in familiar places when we are not around. It's the basis for 'if a tree falls in a forest, does it make a sound', as well as the idea behind those anthropomorphized (Google it) cows in 'The Far Side' comics. It was this same curiosity that made me go over to Fair Lakes this morning, despite the fact that there were snow banks on the roads and parking lots, well over 5 ft. tall. I drove my 'bad weather' car, and got there late - 10:00AM. Also, I didn't bring my good camera - after all, who would be there on a day such as this? I found out - lots of people! Surprisingly, not just the 4WD variety.
The weather certainly eliminates real exotics, but I'm glad to see some people enjoying the snow. Kudos, though, to the guys who brought out their RWD cars!

Here are some of the non-RWD vehicles... Different vehicles than we normally see at a cars & coffee, but still interesting, with enthusiastic owners.

Fair Lakes, 02/23/14
The mid-winter doldrums - people responded to the relatively warm temps, and fairly clean roads.
First picture - Fair Lakes Rule #1: Don't park under the 'goose bleachers'. Lots of people & cars, and a good variety. I almost didn't get a picture of the 430 Scuderia that arrived before I did, and left early. I even let a friend park his F355 next to my Elise. (Damned nice of me, huh?)
The last picture is of a 944 with a Chevy LS1 installed.

As usual, the groups were out in force. Mopars? Yep. Corvettes? Check. Camaros? You bet. We even had groups of NSX and Mitsubishi Evos.

Hey guys I'm looking at another vehicle and since many of you have seen and very much like my Yellow Vantage I figured I would let you guys have a stab at it if interested. Right now it's only posted on the marketplace here. A dealer already has offered a pretty good trade in amount.
