It was behind us, it looked nice and sounded even better.
and when we got to the red light he revved it hard to show off.

I ran into a GTR on Sunday during my morning drive on PCH. Car was red, paper plates. Driver was probably early 40's, nice guy, wanted to run my Turbo. No breaks i.e. red lights so it was about 45mph, he hits it, I chase, within 4-5 seconds it was nose to nose and I was pulling by a noticeable amount there after. Just in to 4th gear I slow down, clearly beating the GTR, owner gives the thumbs up and that was that. Stupid, I know so excuse the lack of judgment.

The GTR has quite the street presence, I give it that. Personally Im a fan but unless your going from a dead stop the GTR's advantage of a ridiculous launch makes for easy picking in your 997TT.

Nothing more than a cargraphic exhaust and suspension. I doubt the exhaust would make a difference, the pull was substantial.

I saw a red and black on at C&C last Saturday.

 

How did it sound? was the stock system pretty loud?

 

It was really loud!!
It was louder than a F430.

 

I'm gonna have to disagree.... at least for a stock GTR....

 

From my perspective on the side by side drive the GTR was quieter than my car with the cargraphic loud version by a good margin.

vast majority of the gtr's will be modded to some degree Im sure.

 

I saw Cobb tuning's GTR and the exhaust they have built for it is just plain sick! Heres a vid for those of you that haven't heard it.

I recall a few car magazines giving ridiculous bias toward the GTR as if it was far superior. Quoting 1 second faster lap times etc. Nissan's Nemesis blah blah..
