True story, but (despite my decision to ditch the GT-R), I don't think my tranny experience is representative. I have not heard of very many similar situations. The one very comparable case that I know about was also covered under warranty.

That was just in response to kickhard stating that the only GTR that he heard of that had a tranny failure posted here once and never came back.

i think kickhard was referring to somebody else that said it wasn't covered under warranty...

i think we've learned (or suspected) that he was just another troll.

i think even more impressive time that i just learned is an intermediate driver reported a 7:57 around the ring (cobb ap, track pads, and a y-pipe).

Thats correct I dont remember the guys name but he came on here claiming his tranny blew while driving on the race track. Also said he owned all these cars and never provided proof of anything.

Is it possible that the other people from porsch and others there did that? ( not being smart just asking if others did that )

Bar HvS and WR most other drivers are intermediate around the ring even those who race there like Chris Harris. CH even said that he would only be several seconds off the two ring experts but nothing more than 10-15 seconds off. The GTR youve provided is not even stock and as CH complined the brakes were one o the most dispointing thing.

And independent group would need to provide a GTR bought off the lot in order to insure the car is stock. The people there could have been timing a car with 700hp for all they know.

That doesn't change the fact that I was impressed. I had no intention of hiding the mods (that's why I listed them). 7:57 with the y-pipe, tune (increased boost by a couple psi), and brake pads, from a person who has never raced there competitively and only went there a few times. I guess my point was - who else could do this in a lightly modified car?

What did Chris Harris say about the brakes being disappointing? What would be his recommended dual duty daily/track pad/rotor?
