Still. You'd think when you want to sell cars, you could make it just a little easier for qualified people to pony up 95K to get one!

Oh, I don't disagree... But when Nissan is hitting their sales mark with the GT-R, these practices may not change, sadly.

I find it being dealer dependent, though. As I can't speak any better of my sales experience. I have been treated like royalty since I first put my name on the list for pre-order, and I get treated wonderfully to this day (much better than my Porsche, BMW and Infiniti dealerships).

Thankfully, my local GT-R dealer is one of the good ones.

I can only imagine how frustrating it would be trying to work with some of the dealers that a few of you guys have mentioned.

This is the problem

The dealers at least in my case treat you like you are a head ache as opposed to a customer paying hard earned money. I'm in a very niche business where selling is not a problem, providing product is the problem and I understand that nissan dealer have this issue with the GTR, but I treat everyone of my clients like they are my only client even if I won't be able to provide what they want. I guess in the end it may never make a difference to Nissan or my local Nissan dealers

I think having a dealer close is a huge thing. I hate having to take a day off of work to get the car serviced or watching your car get put on a flat bed truck to disappear hundreds of miles for a couple of days or longer. I've often wondered if I had a Ferrari dlr in close proximity...

tourbillion - It seems you and I have a lot in common... This is way I do business as well, regardless if it is my client or somebody else's (or even some person I never do business with). This is a small world.

This was a LARGE deciding factor when I chose my last car. It helped that the Nissan dealer was only 3 miles away. There is more to ownership than just purchasing a car.

good shift of topic. This is another thing that put me off on the GTR. It should have been an Infinity with Infinity level of service, not Nissan.

I'll add this - I get treated about 5 times better as a GT-R owner in a Nissan dealership as I did a G35 owner in an Infiniti dealership (or a 911 owner in Porsche dealership, or a BMW 3-series owner in a BMW dealership).

but I am sure you would get better treatment as a GTR owner in an infinity dealer. My experience with both BMW and Porsche has been stellar as far as service goes. My local Nissan dealer is good and the manager loves porsches

I can't imagine how. My service treatment has been so flawless. I've never been treated better (I do not attribute this to Nissan corporate, but rather my local dealer), by any service dept, anywhere.

I will say this until something bad happens.

Well. I did find a 2012 GTR in a color I liked in Los Angeles-and my 'internet price', only about 15K over sticker. Are people really paying this, now?

In some areas, where there is no problem selling them, yes. In most areas (like mine), no.

I have found an allocation

Why is it that everyone is so entranced with 0-60 numbers? In reality the 0-100 and 1/4 mile numbers are much more important. The new PDK TTs performance beyond 100 mph is mind boggling for sure. What is the new 2012 GTR doing performance wise in the 100 and 1/4 mile
