2012 GT-R w/tune only 10.7

Congrats to Fikse!

10.7 with tune only in a 2012 GT-R (in 90deg FL weather)!

The question was asked how it would do, and we all estimated 10.9 with y-pipe, 10.7 with tune, and I believe it could run a 10.5 in better weather and a Y-pipe.

The 2012s are impressive stock.

Correct me if I am wrong but internally their are now differences in the engines between the 2011 GTRs and older? My understanding is that the 2012s extra power comes from different factory software? Other than that, the majority of the differences are in the suspension and aerodynamics, correct?

Engine is the same, just a wider intake and a larger diameter midpipe. Also the Turbo inlet pipes are a littler wider too. So with just a tune you can hit 530 whp!

The 2012's actually don't make any more boost than the 09-11's. They have larger inlet piping for the turbos, and a higher flowing midpipe. The motor is obviously getting more air with these, but the boost levels are reading the same.

They do have the LC4 trans tune which puts launch control back up, although not all the way, to 4,000RPM.
