My xmas present arrived today
My xmas present arrived today
After a little wait, my present finally showed up today. Thanks to Josh, we were able to get it test fitted before powder coating.

Hopefully I will be able to drop it off tomorrow to get them started on it. Went in with no issues. I just removed all interior pieces to make it easier to work with. Josh and I came up with some new ideas for the interior pieces. I may have to make some changes before putting everything back together.

nice david!! can't wait to see her rippin' up the track this year! when you guys go next time, let me know. i'll take some pictures of you all on the track. =)
Not quite sure if it is 1.75 or 1.5. I received it yesterday afternoon, test fitted it last night, then dropped it off this morning for powder coating. When it gets back, I can check the exact sizing.
It's a DAS Sport bar. http://dassport.com/
It was bought from http://www.cdoc.com/
I believe they are same company, or CDOC owns DAS. Something like that.

1.75" tubing for DAS piece (well at least the 996 version is 1.75)... and you are right about the CDOC/Das relationship...
Very nice!
I am assuming you are PCing it white to match the car? Or black and stealthy?

Yep, it's a full bolt in. No drilling or welding required. The car can go right back to stock without any issues.
Post some pics of them PJ, I want to see.
Was your chrome shadow paint peeling? Is that why you got your wheels powdercoated? Interesting that it looks like a few different shades of grey/black in all three pictures.
His rears and my rears were not the same color... it appears that my rims had been refinished before I bought the car and not to OEM specs, which as you know, is difficult to have done in the USA becasue chrome shadow OEM paint is illegal in the US because of some toxic chemical or some BS...
So the rears off of my car and the rears from Jim's set did not match... at first I was going to put his rears on one side of the car and mine on the other so both sides matched (since you cannot look at both sides at the same time) and then I decided against that... I may be cheap, but not that cheap.
So I needed to get all four rims refinished so they all matched... so I decided to try all black to see how it looked... at least I will not have to spend a lot of time cleaning them!
I am not sure how it will look on the car but if it does not look good, I will post them up for sale along with the 4 fronts I will have and then just buy all new wheels... the car is sterling gray (charcoal color) and finding rims that look good against charcoal is not easy... so I thought I would try black and see how that looked...
If it sucks, I will probably buy some fikses or BBS for the car...
