Since so many folks seem to be coming out of the woodwork lately to introduce themselves, I thought I would do the same. I’ve been lurking on the NW forum since about page 3 of the E@RTC thread. Suffice it to say that has proven to be a very entertaining and addicting introduction to the group. I now find myself coming back a couple of times a day to read the latest posts and on the rare occasion even throwing in a comment of my own.
I’m a lifelong car enthusiast and am proud to say I’ve never owned anything that a normal person would consider practical, nor have I ever left a car stock. The latter is another way to say that I have a tendency to make my cars even less practical than the manufacturer ever intended
Nothing exotic in my garage. Just a couple of older Porsches and a Westfield that all conspire to keep me busy and entertained. I’m looking forward to meeting everyone at upcoming events!

Hmm, not having any luck with that translation, but I’ll assume it isn’t about my mother
I love the Westfield. I bought it used nearly 8 years ago and completely rebuilt it in ’04 replacing virtually every component but the frame, driveshaft, and some suspension components. It went from 120hp and 1400 lbs to 1235 lb with fuel and 210 hp. It’s not a lot of fun in the rain, but on a dry day it’s a great way to clear your head and is also a great way to see the country. I’ve done a couple of tours including 4000 miles in 2 weeks with about 60 other Westfields, Caterhams, et al. Lot of information about the car is on the Westfield section of my website. The Downloads section also has a write up on that tour and a little in-car silverlight video I shot while testing out the camcorder set up. It provides a decent sense of the driving experience.

Last summer I traded cars with a friend who had an Exige 220. That pretty much sums up his comments after the swap
The Exige is an impressive car though. Incredibly rigid platform and great brakes.
Fortunately my wife is pretty tolerant of that. She loves to go out in the car and even accompanied me on the USA2005 tour.
