I got a GT2!!!
That caught your attention huh!
Funny thing has happened. Turns out my VIN number on my 2008 997TT belongs to a GT2. I didn't even notice it said that on my insurance card until we received new ones in the mail yesterday. Apparently when Porsche assigned my VIN number, they put down the wrong model Porsche on the records (somewhere?). I am trying to convince Barrier that they gave me the wrong car and they owe me a GT2, but I am not getting very far. Has anyone ever had this happen? Any idea how I get the records corrected? The insurance company won't do it. I just hope I have not been paying the rate for a GT2 for the past year (my car will be 1 yo on tax day). I guess the good news is if I were to ever get in a wreck, they'd have to replace it with a GT2?!
hmmmm.

Thanks David. Sent you a pm. Curious what you find.
Not everyone a car person, not even a used car manager at a dealership ! I wonder if you have a GT2 Badge instead of a Turbo Badge, and since the vin show up as GT2, Will a dealer ( Except porsche dealer ) think that yours is a GT2 ?
Greta be very careful. Your new found power can reach up and bite ya in the ars if you're not careful

Well I was down at Barrier today and they had the trail of paperwork which verifies I do in fact have a Turbo that I can supply to my insurance company. Apparently after a turbo is manufactured they take them somewhere and convert them into a GT2. They actually remove the entire drive train, etc. and turn it into the GT2. I assume they don't make enough GT2's to have its own production line. So the bottom line, GT2 owners actually have a TURBO
I love ever Porsche.
