Fuel mileage RRS vs. RR

this winter has me thinking to pick up an 06 range rover either sport or the big body one, either will be the supercharged model. I prefer the bigger one, as i'm a big guy and my uncle has one and the comfort is amazing. never driven the sport.

for those that have any experience, what is the fuel mileage difference if any? i remember my uncle's 07 hse is a gas hog

Both are about the same, both guzzle like heck. Friend has a Rover Sport (s/c) and its pretty bad on gas, especially in the city, they may not be big but they are heavy porkers.

I'm averaging 15mpg in the city in my RRS s/c and about 22 mpg on the two roadtrips I've done in it.

I honestly don't think it's that bad. My 4runner, Jeep, and X5 all did worse on the freeway than the RRS does, and they weren't nearly as fun to drive!

Yeh I don't know how anyone could get 15 city and 22 highway in one. Calculate it manually and I guarantee it won't be close, truck is lucky to get 16 highway cruising at like 65. Neighbor has one and friend does, both suck donkey ***** for mileage. If someone is getting 15/22 they got a magical RRS s/c

Mine must be magical!

For reals, I've driven to Vegas at 75 mph and Boise at around 80. Both times, I averaged over 20 mpg. Sixth gear is geared really low, so it hovers around 2k+/- rpm.

Did you calculate it manually? As when my buddy and I went to my lake house in his truck, in FL. Only got 16-17 mpg at about 70. My truck shows 22-24 on the highway on the readout, but when calculated manually its only about 18.

Around PHX, combo street/freeway, about 16. I have gotten as high as 18, as low as 12. Really depends on how you drive it. No measured long freeway runs...

13-14 sounds about right on my RRS S/C - even though my readout says 16.7 no matter what..
