Xkr175

Anyone driven this car. Looks to be mainly cosmetic changes and top speed unlimited. Very interesting car.

Smoking tire had a nice review and Matt on there really loved it.

I got my XKR175 in late August and am loving it. Yes, it is mostly a trim package, but a very beautiful one. The higher top speed and limited production make for good conversation.

The Smoking Tire video review pretty much sums up how I feel about the car. This definitely is not your old man's Jaguar.

Yeah new XKR-S coming too. Do you have any pics of your 175?

Hers' a pic of my XKR175 on its first road trip in October (Great Smoky Mountains). I have nearly 10,000 miles on it already. It's a fantastic touring car--comfortable and quiet on the long stretches and a growling beast on the twisties.

The trim kit on the 175 really suits the car. Based on the pics I've seen of the new XKR-S, I don't think I'll be having any buyer's remorse...the S seems overdone, especially the spoiler.

Very nice! I agree the spoiler and busy front end are gross and ruins what makes the XKR what it is.

I plan on picking up an 11' XKR this year but I hate that there is such a lack of XKR presence on this board as well as the jaguarforums board.

I depend on the much much smarter people than myself on these forums to make my vehicle ownership a much better and smoother experience.

Pugman - if you could be so kind to keep us updated on how things are going with the XKR; I'd be very thankfull!

I will try to post updates from time to time. I agree...not a lot of message-board activity for the XKR (probably due mostly to the demographics of the typical Jag buyer).

I cross-shopped pretty much everything in the XKR's segment (and then some), and I don't regret my decision at all. This is my first Jag and it appears to be a very high-quality piece. The build quality is impressive...maybe not quite at Porsche levels, but certainly competitive. So far, I'm impressed with the economy, reliability and ease of ownership. Most of all, I'm thrilled with how better it performs than I had imagined.

I really dig the XKR and think it's one of the best buys on the market. 510hp and semi-exotic looks for 100K. Add the 4 year warranty and this car makes it silly to spend 300K on an exotic you can't drive because you're afraid to put miles on it or it will need repairs.

I would love to see a set of aftermarket wheels on it.

The new xkr-s sounds amazing and it shifts like no-mans business, the 175 was the last hurrah before the new facelift xk comes but the 175 is definetly a brilliant car. The interior is in debate at the company, but you'll see why soon

I really want a new XKR I may trade my 10 BMW 650 on one? How well do they handle? Is is fairly quiet in the cabin? How well is the stereo system? Is there any mechanical differences between the XKR and the 125? I really like the looks and this XKR seems to have positive reviews. Any info is helpful.Pugman your car looks great.

I'll answer your questions one by one . They are one of the best handling gt's in the world, very quiet in the cabin, can't really appreciate the roar of the V8, unless the windows are down. Stereo system is very easy to use and speakers are by Bower and Wilkins (if that means anything), mechanically there is no difference between a normal 'R' and the 175, the 175 has been de-restricted and aero package has been applied so it can hit 175 mph.

Hope this helps

The R is faster all round but the maser sounds much nicer

LOL, lets keep this post going! I think I've read every review out there on the on 2010/2011 XKR...but at the same time with such a lack of new model XKR owners hanging around on the enthusiast communities I havent had a chance to talk to any actual owners. This thread is a big help! Thanks a lot guys.

Based on all my research the only bad things I've heard is the lucas electrical issues/reliability (which isnt a big deal because 2011 have the 5 year warranty/service cov) The ride is slightly harsh (good news to my ears because like rayman said the focus is on handling not the comfort) and that the touch screen media interface is pretty slow on stupid.

All an all I think when you combine the design, the performance and throw in the 5 year platinum plan these cars are a bargin!
