After reading online that by ordering the "ski bag option" the rear seats are configured so that you can recline the armrest section and keep both rear passenger seats upwards for usage. This way you can store longer but thinner items as illustrated in the images I took.

Works well for a kayak paddle or rolled up painting and so on.

The stock configuration is 60/40. So you can either lower the rear right passenger (40%) and keep the rear right passenger and armrest console for usage or lower the rear right passenger and armrest console (60%) and keep the rear left passenger for use.

The ski bag option allows you to either lower the rear right passenger , center console or rear right and if im not mistaken rear right and console.

 

Forgot to mention that the armrest console area is about 23cm or 9 inches wide. Not bad really.

 

you get that config either through the ski bag option - big demand in UAE i am sure! - or the expensive way by getting powered reclining rear seats. in canada - $4k or so with some other stuff or $600 for the bag.

that 40/20/40 config is really handy.

the 60 of the 60/40 is behind the driver in LHD drives so it makes that build that much more of a pain because it forces the passenger to sit behind the driver - makes for tougher conversation etc.

 

good points cpa4s. and nice one about the uae needing the ski bag option. But curiously, the local dealership ordered one ( the one I illustrated) with the ski bag option. Weird.

 

I'm very happy with the retractable cargo cover. seems like a much better option than the standard hard cover

 

Isn't the the retractable cargo cover ( as in the pictures above) stabdard and the hard cover is an option? I'm confused.

 

In USA the retractable cover is a $150 option. The hard cover is standard.

 

Here the retractable cover (as seen above) is standard and the hard top os an option. If I order the hartdtop do I lose the retractable mechanism?

What are the pros/cons of each? Just curious.

So if you get the larger rear center console does that prohibit folding down the center section? Or is the center section removeable?

 

I am not sure but thats something imperative to ask. Maybe even the center console never collapses, just the 2 passenger seats collapse. I would not know as I did not order the larger center console. The maid needs to sit somewhere lol.

 

the larger rear console is totally stationary. so you can fold down the 2 outboard seats but are left with the whole centre consol. one of the reviews on utube shows it but can't site the video.
