Missing Universal Audio Interface

Picked up a 2010 Panamera S. Universal Audio Interface is on window sticker, but not installed in car (no iPod controller plug - only Aux and USB). How easy is it for dealer to do installation? Is it only a swap of the part in the armrest console or does the PCM unit have to be removed?

Thanks!

There isn't a specific port for iPod, but rather a plug/cable that plugs into both the USB and Aux ports in the storage compartment, and then that cable has an iPod interface plug. Either that cable is sitting in your glovebox (or somewhere else in the car) or it was removed at the dealership and never replaced.

Here's a picture of the cable/setup from Suncoast:

Look around in your car for the cable...if you can't find it, call the dealer.

I don't have the second iPod controller port underneath the USB plug. This is my second Panamera. My first had the controller port as shown in the photo.

Ah...my bad. Then that sounds like a conversation of a different nature is to be had with the dealer...

I had the same issue. Dealer tells me that at some point (I don't know when) Porsche updated the PCM (but, not the manuals yet) and the cable is no longer necessary and therefore not supplied. I was told to use my iPod cable and plug directly into the USB port and then push "DISC" until iPod comes up on display. I HAVE NOT TRIED IT YET SO I CANNOT VERIFY. But, just wanted to pass along in case you want to try.

Simply use your iPod cord. That's all you need. Or you can plug a flash drive directly in to the USB.

No more included cable, only an USB interface now. Use the ipod cable from apple, works great. The USB connection is better than the previous method, as it stays tighter.

Thanks. I'll just plug the iPod in the USB port using the Apple cable and see what happens.

Same question when I picked up my car on Friday. Use the Apple cable and you'll be fine. You can also connect via bluetooth but then you have to control music via the Ipod/Iphone versus the PCM.

Picked my '11 Panamera S Friday. Unlike the '09 Carrera S, the audio interface doesn't have two connections, just one. The dealer supplied an aftermarket cable to connect the iPhone (pod) in the center console. I guess your Apple cord would work.

I can verify that that's how it works...for some reason when I first connected my iPod the PCM didn't recognize it...had to keep turning the car on and off...then it finally worked
