sport plus button?

Hi guys,

I am a Cayenne guy and planning to get a 2010 panamera turbo soon. I have some questions before I take the step.

1-) The car that I am interested in at the dealership has the Sport Plus button. Does it mean that the car comes with the launch control and the temporary power and torque increase features? Is it the same as the powerkit option that is listed on the car configurator?

2-) What is the difference between 2010 and 2011 models?

3-) What are the MUST have options on a panamera turbo?

4-) What are the things that I need to be careful about when buying a second hand panamera turbo?

Thank you!

1. If it has the sport chrono clock on the dash, yes.
2. 2011 have certain items that were previously options standard
3. Burmester and Sport Chrono, IMO. Burmester is one of my favorite features of the car.
4. The cars are very tough and new enough that you just want to make sure it has been properly serviced with all recalls and check for accident damage. Unless it was used for a limo service, it will still have plenty of warranty left

rear back up isn't that bad

ski bag is the only way to get the ability to fold down each back seat individually

if you want XM has to be on car - can't get it later

Actually, the Sport Plus button is present on all Turbos and is not associated with the Powerkit. The button sets suspension settings, transmision shift points, throttle response.... and is how you activate launch control. Powerkit is a set of bolt on bits, new turbo, etc., that raises HP regarldess of which button is pressed

FWIW I never use sport plus in daily driving - too harsh, revs held too high. I do however occcasionally put the suspension in its firmest setting.

Agree with poster above said Burmester is a must have. Really remarkable system. The ski sack for the split-set option is a very good idea. I also got the rolling cover for the hatchback stowage area. A convenient and inexpensive option.

Sorry, I did not clarify in my previous post. This button does not mean you have power kit.

Use the online confuigurator to decide which ones are a must & which ones would be nice to have and which ones are a waste of money (based on your personal preferences of course)

Agree that the usually recommended options from existing owners are reverse camera & Burmeister. For me the turbo ii wheels were also important.

If comparing apples to apples, save the $ and get the 2010 or get 2010 with more options than a 2011 with less options

My option list is attached and the only one I dont see adding a value (joy) based on my personal preferences is the rear view mirror trim in leather. Otherwise I am happy with the rest of the options. Note that the wheels were swapped to turbo ii before delivery.

For the smaller options I think the rolling cargo cover is a great one, and the rear wiper is not. The rear wiper housing takes up some of the very limited visibility thru the rear windscreen and does not have a washer fluid nozzle.

For resale I think Sport Chrono is a must.

I have a 2010 S and my rear seats 60/40 fold down individually without ski bag option. I do have 14way power seat option.
