winter tires
hello. i have 18" all season tires on my p4. Just got some snow in chicago and looks like they are worthless. Any recommendations from the gang for the best traction ? Also i have a set from my old cayenne(sold). i was wondering if 275/40R20 will fit in the rear. By spec i need 275 35 20 . Thank you
I have 18" wheels on my P4S with the Pirelli Sottozero snow tires from Tire Rack. I've had them in two winters in the California Sierras and they've been great. For summer I switch over to 20" summer tires. In my mind all-season tires are a compromise that really don't do anything very well. The snow tires I have are the only snow tires available through Tire Rack in the recommended size for the car. IF Nokian had snow tires in my size I'd buy those -- but they don't seem to make them.

Dmoore is right. All seasons mean no seasons. I've always used Pirelli Sotto Zero winter tires on my 911 and they are good. Here in Canada we definately need winter tires..... Does anyone have any comments as to which is quieter on dry roads -- Pirelli winter tires or Michelins?

Agreed.
If anyone needs one 20" front ever, I have one for sale in classifieds with not many miles on it. Cheap.
