Car went to crap in an instant!

Sitting in the 4S, parked, engine running, and everything begins to shake like it's an old jalopy. Next, warnings for PSM and Start Stop failures and check engine. Fortunately, I was able to drive the car...very slowly...to a nearby Porsche dealer, not where I bought it though. Dealer service closed today (Saturday), so I won't know until Monday about the issues. Of course, no loaners were available; however, a salesman there gave me a ride home...I plan to inquire about a loaner when the Service Department calls on Monday. My first Porsche, about 6100 on the odometer...haven't had a car experience like this in decades.

Thanks. I should know more on Monday and will post once I hear something. The car had been behaving down right superbly up to that moment. Thank goodness for the warranty!

did you try just shutting it off, letting it sit for a minute and restarting? Cars are basically run by computers and sometimes they have a hiccup and need a reboot just like almost every PC does.

Tried that too...shut off and restarted after about 40 minutes...same problem. Thanks though!

Similar thing for me years ago, it was the fuel.
I suspected the valet pee into it.

I spoke with the technician a short while ago and here's the story: fault codes (recorded when the Check Engine light engaged) revealed that 2 cylinders were badly misfiring. So, they replaced spark plugs and the ignition coil. The car appears back to normal, but they want to keep it overnight so that they can cold start and test tomorrow. If all is OK as expected, they will deliver the car to my house tomorrow afternoon.

Glad to hear that. Any reason for fault codes and misfiring? ? spark plug wear

Good question. Could have just been bad plugs, but I'll inquire when I speak with the tech tomorrow. For now, I'm just relieved that it does not seem to be anything more serious. Also, I have to admit being impressed that the car's computer records incidents such as this.
