When is first oil service needed?

I have a 2012 Panamera with about 6k miles. I have about half my oil bars still showing. When is it normal for me to go in for my first oil service? I'm surprised with all that I've read on oil consumption that I have not needed to add any oil.

I have a MY12 Turbo S with 3200 miles on it and I did the first full service about 2 weeks ago. If it hasn't had it's first service your already late.

For my 4S I am supposed to change the oil every 10,000 miles and, in between changes, add a quart whenever prompted.

The service indicator will let you know when it is time to service. Go drive and enjoy your car!

That's what I thought. I assume that I'm good for about 10K before a service unless I need to add oil. The days of 5K oil changes are behind us. Just excessive.

It's every 10k miles as the manuals tell you. I have already put in 6000 miles on my MY13 PTT and it's barely 5 months old.

Service light just came on for mine (2012 PTT) at 10,000 miles, as noted above. I changed the oil at 1,500 miles, but I always do that with a new car. From now on I will go by the book, so 10k or so between services.

Cost of 10k service at SoCal dealer was $368.

My dealer essentially refused to change my oil at 3000 miles when I inquired a couple times. They said I should spend the money on a nice dinner instead.

I finally needed to add a 1/4 quart of oil after 6500 miles, the gauge was one bar down.
