Hatch opens itself!!!

I recall seeing others have this issue...mine has opened twice now by itself, and it's freaking me out! I left my office last Friday to see my car sitting there with the hatch fully open...the trunk loaded with all my climbing gear. I was way lucky nobody had stolen it! Well, just now it did it again...fortunately in my garage this time. Any suggestions as to what to do? This is a huge problem!

Take the key out of your pocket.
The range on the unlock/trunk open button is staggering (at least 1/2 mile).

Thanks! I wondered about that at my office...could the button have somehow gotten pushed walking down the hall. But in my garage I keep the keys in the cupholder...I'm 99% sure the hatch was closed when I left with my son in his car...came back to the hatch open. Ahhh, but still not quite 100%. I will let you know if it occurs again...

Sometimes if I walk away too soon, and the hatch does not completely close, ie you hear it lock (from the alarm) or the latch engage.....my hatch will reverse and open up. To make sure it closes, I listen for the alarm to engage as i am walking away.

What is weird is that I cannot replicate this issue. Sometime it happens, most of the time it does not. If I choose not to lock the car, I just have to make sure i hear the latch mechanism engage.

I have the same problem and I was able to replicate it many times and I am aware of the trunk key open on the fob. On the video, both keys are visible and no one was touching the trunk open on the fob. The trunk opens by itself. I will take the car to the dealer for a diff issue and will show them the video. 2022 MACAN S
