Body coding for the Panamera

Hi. Im pretty new to Porsche world coming out of a BMW world. With BMW, we had a chance to code all sorts of things like: how many time to chime the seatbelt, fold mirrors on lock, open one or 4 doors with a press of button, or leave climate controls in certain setting everytime you start the car, kill welcome screens, and a whole bunch of useful stuff. They do that with a laptop and a software using OBDII cable (anybody can download and reprogram)

DO you guys have such option here with Porsches? Or is it all dealer? or custom INDY?

Everything is done through the MFD. Page 138-151 of the owners' manual explains all of them.

The configurable options are thru MFD. However, I think the OP is asking to code hidden options like we can in the BMW. From my understanding, this is not possible with Porsche. Dealer can do it with PWIS or something, but I do not believe anyone has developed a tool to do so outside of the dealer network.

It can be done, I had my dealer program the auto start stop, parking light and mirror fold in for me....

but its not like the BMW you can use the cable to code the module that cost 45 dollars on ebay, you need the piwis 2 to get this programming done which cost any where from 5000 to 20000.

not entirely true.

I have the timing changed to hold the button for 0.1second to fold in the mirror, basically saying,

it automatically fold in when ever I press the lock button..

people coming from coding the bmw will know exactly what I meant in terms of the time needed to hold the lock button to make the mirror fold, because it can be coded from any where between 0.1 second or 10seconds.....

Any idea how the dealer did this? I had my new to me PIWIS 2 connected today. I set the mode to E (engineering) to allow custom coding. Everything is in German so I used Google Translate on my iPhone (trick I learned from the guys on MacanForum). Couldn’t find the right place to change the mirror folding on lock.

Specifically, I want the mirrors to fold as soon as I press the lock button on the remote. I know that if you hold the lock button for 2 seconds the mirrors will fold. I’m looking to code immediate folding on lock. I know it can be done but just need to know where to look. I’ve contacted a few guys on MacanForum (thanks Santrix and Ray!) that have done it on their Macans. They told me how they did it but doesn’t work the same on Panamera 970.

Has anyone done it? Can anyone help?

Kindly share how/where you made the 1=>.1 adjustment. Thank you

Were you able to sort this out? If so, please share what you learned. Thank you

Nope. Never figured it out. Spent a fair amount of time searching the various menus using my PIWIS 2. Even dug into the Engineering Mode (E) without success. Eventually gave up and I’ve resigned myself to holding the lock button on the key fob or door handle for 2 seconds for the mirrors to fold!

If anyone has figured out how to change the mirror fold time from 2s to 0.1s please chime in with step-by-step instructions as I’m also still keen to custom code this.
