Panamera Turbo w/ X-Pipe

Hello all,

I have a 2014 Panamera Turbo w/ Sport Exhaust and it has an amazing rumble with a nice overrun sound. I recently installed an x-pipe resonator delete expecting a heightened exhaust note, but I gotta say I was disappointed that it actually seems like the exhaust note is somewhat more muffled now than before.

Has anyone else had an experience with this? Thanks.

First of all, nice to see another DMC enthusiast in here. Odd that would happen with a resonator delete but the best way to increase sound and increase performance would be with aftermarket downpipes.

True, but at $4k it's a little hard to justify

4K downpipes?! You'd be overpaying. Expect to pay 1/2 of that or less.

Both FabSpeed and AWE are listed for $3,500, by the time taxes and install. Do you know of any others out there for cheaper?

I tested all 3 different Supersprint setup:
1. Downpipes + straight pipes + X-pipe - PSE mufflers.
2. Downpipes + resonator + X-pipe + PSE mufflers.
3. Downpipes +200cell cats + X-pipe + PSE mufflers.

Straight pipes are really laud but the sound quality is sucks on 5000+ RPM, droning.
With resonator it is very close to stock, no dramma.
200cell cats is the best but the sound is still not deep enough (cannot be compared with AMG for example)

That sounds great, deep!
Now if we could find that sound for 2k or less I would be in, you are right 4-5k is hard to justify..

Guys , I have only fvd 3 inch downpipes (only 1500$ with no cats ) with oem catback and it sound wonderfull . Deep , ruspy , like an amg . No drone , no sounf in cabine exept when you push hard , valves open and they release the amg deep type of sound.

Oem midpipe is composed of resonator and h-pipe in the end . Putting an x-pipe insteas of the resonator is a good idea in NA panameres but not in the turbo. The h-pipe is better suited for turbocharged cars . Porsche knows how to do it better and cuting the resonator is a very bad idea. I listed to a few with straigh piped resonator and it sound like a broken truck. Just do downpipes and leave the stock catback , it works very good!

Do you have a sound clip of this set up? I do NOT have turbo, just the Panny S 4.8 V8

Well regardless of the slight loss in exhaust rumble, id say it more smoothed out the exhaust note, although I did like the loud overrun sound (it still has it just not as pronounced). But I do notice some improved throttle response and the boost seems to come on slightly quicker. Not sure if I'd do it again, but it might be a nice upgrade in tandem with an imminent ecu tune.

Sold my Panamera Turbo. If any other PTT owners are interested in an X-Pipe at a nice discount, I have mine listed in the For Sale section
