8 years with HRE received NEGATIVE result

Hi everyone,
I would like to share my experience with HRE
I've been doing business with HRE for more than 8 years; bought more than 10 sets of latest models at the market from them
Recently ordered new set for my Porsche received 4 pieces:
2 rear ones were perfect BUT

2 front ones were not even shape I was trying for 3 days to find the tire balancing service to fix them
So I decided to contact them and sent the videos of the not even shaped wheels(will upload the pictures and videos later)
I have sent many videos taken from all angles
and their response was absolutely surprised me

so for 2 weeks they were just rare answers that I have to do it right)))
well what about 2 other ones that were ok then
it cant be that 2 are ok and 2 aren't
please see below:

Response from HRE

I don’t know what you want from this, holding a piece of plastic by the wheel doesn’t do anything for us

You know that all wheels have some amount of run out, the allowable number we ship out is .025” or .635mm. we measure that with a dial indicator on the bead seat. If a customer approaches you with what they think is a problem you need to be able to give them direction for how to verify that there is a problem.
1. You need to make sure they have mounted the wheel to the balancer correctly, we prefer a cone in the back and a flat in the front on the cab bore
2. If a run out issue is suspected it must be measured with a dial indicator OR by the machine it is on. Many 10 year old and newer tire machines have the ability to measure the wheel run out and determine if it is ok or not
3. Mount the tire and run road force, it will tell them if it is good or not, visual inspection does not work for wheel run out

Multiple times now we have had wheels come back from the gmbh with run out issues that in all reality did not have any issues, they were simply improperly checked by the installer and the sales person did not guide them down the correct path. This costs all of us time/money/dealer good will.

If the dealer is truly having a problem please have them follow the process to see if the wheels are within our specs or not

Hi ,

Your customer needs to check where the tire mounts, not on the outside. The part of the rim where he is checking is spun in air so it is not always true.

Best Regards,
Manager

The customer is very upset, he has a racing in 2 weeks.

What can we do to solve this problem quickly?

Yeah I am missing something. I see you posting in every single HRE thread but I am missing something. They are asking you to ensure the test is being done properly rather than sending the wheels all the way back to HRE for testing which can be costly. No where in their email did they say they would not help and ensure you get good quality wheels.

I guess I am just not understanding.

))) Please check the videos you can see that
I did all the tests inside and outside
with and without tires
but they still need another test and i received their response after 2 weeks
thank you
PS not trying to get the cat out of the bag for them, but i guess when you are sending something for customer that is always buing from you overseas you have to check properly

I had some bad run outs on other brand rims before, I just took photos of the outcome. The vendor sent me replacements right away and I returned the defective set without question, but those wheels weren't HRE price.

sounds like good service

in my case I have to do required and not required measurements))
even though that this happened during my 11th order
and I tried first time to tell that something is wrong with 2 rims

I am curious what will happen to the people that order rims first time

I've been told by HRE here in Cali that there was some problem because of the European dealer and that your issue has been resolved and that you were going to request that this thread be removed...however, from your posts I don't get that impression...can you help me out here?

Hi Chuck, thank you for your reply
actually the European dealer is not guilty; the mechanic guy that was manufacturing the wheels probably missed something
yes i received the request to delete post
due to the fact that they offered to send to office of HRE the wheels for check up
