Ive got a sickness of eBaying too much. Saw these little rings and thought they would look good. Definitely a waste of money on an insignificant little detail. On my 996 Turbo I remember buying a higher quality set for like $100 or something like that. Looked really sharp. These Panamera ones cost $42. They were offered in Silver, Red or Blue. I was going to get Red since I have red details but was scared it would look cheesy so I stuck with Aluminum.

They took about 2 weeks from china. Quality was definitely lower than I'd like. The rings had release point from the injection mold and you could see the little residue left. I tried to shave some of it down with a razor but I was scared to damage the finish so didn't get too aggressive. They are simply attached with 3M tape that pre-installed. Just test-fit to make sure which side goes where and how to position for best fitment.

They went in okay. They stuck on okay. But I'm not gonna lie that I'm not too happy with the little residue bits. It makes it look a little junky. If I get annoyed enough I'll take them off and sand and paint them again.

This is is a stupid little mod but I didn't see this on the board so I figured I'd share.

The aluminum finish is not a dead match to the other details but it's close enough. It doesn't look off.

 

Not bad. Where did you source the steering wheel? I'm looking for a thicker option over stock + CF.

 

Don at Dallas Custom SW, he's the best. Has done every car I own. Bought an LR4, that one is next.
